- • As a Site Reliability Engineer for Database Services at GoDaddy, you will ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of Microsoft SQL Server databases that power GoDaddy.com and critical business applications, directly enabling seamless user experiences for millions of customers worldwide.
- • Day to day, you will design and maintain highly available SQL Server environments using Always On Availability Groups and WSFC, automate infrastructure with PowerShell and scripting, lead database upgrades and capacity planning, troubleshoot performance issues using Extended Events, and participate in a 24×7 on-call rotation while collaborating via Agile/Kanban tools like Jira.
- • You will join a dedicated Database Services SRE team within GoDaddy’s engineering organization, working cross-functionally with software engineers and vendors to build secure, scalable, and resilient database architectures aligned with long-term business goals in a remote-first, flexible work environment.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in enterprise-scale SQL Server administration, gain hands-on experience with AI-enabled automation and SAN integrations, strengthen your leadership in incident response and troubleshooting, and grow your influence in shaping database reliability practices across a global tech platform.
🎯 Requirements
- • 4+ years of hands‑on experience administering MS SQL Server (2014–2025), including working in fast‑paced, mission‑critical environments
- • 2+ years of experience with high‑availability and resiliency technologies such as Always On Availability Groups, Windows Server Failover Clustering (WSFC), and MSSQL Transactional Replication
- • Strong technical foundation in T‑SQL, PowerShell scripting, Windows Operating Systems, and RAID, with the ability to automate and optimise database operations
- • Demonstrated ability to take ownership of issues end‑to‑end, lead troubleshooting efforts, and consistently drive work to closure under pressure
- • Experience working both independently and as part of a collaborative team, with clear, effective communication and adaptability to change
- • 1+ year of experience using tools such as Jira, Confluence, or Kanban boards for tracking work, priorities, and delivery
