📋 Description

• As the first Site Reliability Engineer and first engineer in the US for Sonio SAS, you will own platform stability and releases during PST hours, serving as the critical bridge between infrastructure and code to ensure production resilience in a regulated medical-device environment.
• Day to day, you will act as the first responder for US-based incidents, manage end-to-end incident response including triage and blameless post-mortems, improve platform operability through SLOs and observability, and transfer operational knowledge by authoring runbooks and documenting procedures for local teams.
• You will join a mission-driven company founded on 5 years of collaboration between Necker Hospital and Ecole Polytechnique experts, using AI to improve prenatal screening and diagnosis, with the goal of reducing undetected birth defects and optimizing care for pregnant women through technological innovation.
• In this role, you will deepen your expertise in Kubernetes, Terraform, AWS, and Elixir, gain end-to-end ownership of a production platform in a high-stakes healthcare context, and develop leadership in incident response and operational knowledge transfer across global teams.

🎯 Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or Production Engineering, including significant on-call experience on a 24/7 product
• Hybrid 'code-literate' mindset with ability to navigate and patch Elixir code to triage and resolve infrastructure issues independently
• Strong technical foundations in Kubernetes, Terraform, and AWS, including ability to architect and tune observability signals
• High autonomy and comfort making technical decisions with limited supervision, essential due to timezone differences with France
• Operational rigor, calm under pressure, and strong written English skills for producing high-quality runbooks and managing async handoffs
