📋 Description

• As a Software Developer, AI at Valsoft Corporation, you will join a global firm that acquires and grows mission-critical vertical market software companies, with a portfolio of 150+ businesses across 30+ industries and 4,000+ employees in over 20 countries. Your role is pivotal in building the infrastructure, tools, and talent to make every business in the portfolio AI-native, directly impacting real-world operations where software handles critical transactions and serves real customers.
• You will embed directly inside a portfolio company to understand its product, codebase, and operational gaps, then design and develop AI-powered features, integrations, and internal tools using whatever technology stack the business operates on. This includes translating business problems into clean technical solutions with product and operations teams, owning the full delivery cycle from scoping to iteration, and identifying where AI creates genuine product leverage—not as a novelty but as a core capability.
• You will work across multiple portfolio companies over time, gaining deep expertise in what actually works in AI-assisted development, while operating in environments where requirements are often ambiguous and fast-paced execution is expected. Your success will be measured by shipped features that drive real business outcomes, not just technical completion.
• Valsoft’s engineering culture emphasizes ownership, craftsmanship, and impact: you are not here to maintain legacy systems but to build and ship meaningful software that raises the technical bar in every business you touch. Within 30 days, you’ll have a clear build roadmap; within 90 days, at least two meaningful features or tools will be live and driving outcomes; within six months, you’ll be a trusted technical resource with a track record of shipped solutions across the portfolio.
• You will learn to ship AI-assisted features across diverse codebases and industries, develop expertise in LLM-powered agents and agent architectures, and master the practical application of AI in enterprise software—gaining rare, cross-industry experience in turning ambiguous business needs into production-grade, impactful technology.

🎯 Requirements

• Strong software development fundamentals with the ability to write clean, production-quality code and quickly learn new languages or stacks.
• Hands-on experience shipping real AI-powered features using LLMs, agents, or AI tooling—not just prototyping or experimentation.
• Strong problem-framing skills: ability to understand business needs before writing code and translate technical decisions for non-technical stakeholders.
• High comfort with ambiguity and self-direction: capable of operating when requirements are incomplete and figuring out what actually needs to be built.
• Proven track record as a self-starter who moves fast, leaves codebases better than found, and thrives in aggressive shipping environments.
