- • Join Bloomreach Inc. as a Software Developer II on our dynamic Recommendations team, where you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of personalized customer journeys. Bloomreach is at the forefront of building the world's premier agentic platform for personalization, revolutionizing how businesses connect with their customers through advanced AI agents. This role is crucial for enhancing our personalized search system and ensuring the efficient handling and serving of thousands of queries within our recommendations system.
- • As a key member of the Recommendations team, you will be instrumental in improving system scalability by leveraging cutting-edge cloud technologies. Your contributions will directly impact the performance and reach of our personalization engine, Loomi AI, which powers consistent and autonomous personalization across various industries including retail, financial services, hospitality, and gaming.
- • You will take ownership of the end-to-end development and operational lifecycle of our recommendations and search personalization features. This includes managing data ingestion processes, conducting rigorous evaluations, deploying models, and ensuring low-latency serving of personalized content to millions of users.
- • A significant part of your role will involve designing, building, and optimizing robust Spark-based batch and streaming pipelines. These pipelines are essential for generating training data, computing features, performing backfills, and enabling replays at a multi-tenant scale, ensuring our systems are always up-to-date and performant.
- • You will be responsible for integrating real-time user signals, such as clicks, add-to-cart events, and conversions, into our feature sets and ranking algorithms. This requires a delicate balance between maintaining data freshness and adhering to query-triggered re-ranking constraints to deliver the most relevant experiences.
- • Develop and maintain sophisticated offline and online evaluation frameworks. This includes defining key performance metrics and guardrails, conducting A/B tests, and performing in-depth analysis of results (e.g., RPV, CTR, ATC, conversion rates) with detailed segment insights and clear readouts to stakeholders.
- • Drive performance and cost optimization across the entire technology stack. This involves fine-tuning Spark jobs, right-sizing cloud resources, implementing effective caching and precomputation strategies, and building resilient fallback mechanisms for scenarios involving cold-start or sparse data.
- • Build and maintain high-performance backend APIs and services that power our personalization capabilities. You will write clean, well-tested code, implement comprehensive observability through metrics, logs, and tracing, and actively participate in the operation of these services in production, including being part of an on-call rotation.
- • Foster strong collaboration with cross-functional teams, including search, data science, product management, and infrastructure. Your input will be vital in translating business objectives into effective ranking strategies, innovative features, and well-designed experiments, while also encoding complex business rules and diversity constraints.
- • Proactively investigate and resolve production issues, driving root-cause analyses, documenting findings, and implementing preventive measures to enhance system stability and reliability. You will also have opportunities to mentor junior engineers and contribute significantly to the team's technical roadmap and strategic direction.
- • Contribute to the development of our autonomous search capabilities, making product discovery more intuitive and conversational for customers, and more profitable for businesses. You will also be involved in making conversational shopping a reality, connecting shoppers with tailored guidance and product expertise on demand.
- • Work on designing the future of autonomous marketing, aiming to automate workflows and free up marketers to focus on creative, strategic, and customer-centric tasks. This involves building intelligent systems that understand and adapt to user behavior and business needs.
