📋 Description
- • As a Software Developer intern at BMO, you will contribute to meaningful technology initiatives that support the bank’s mission to Boldly Grow the Good, gaining hands-on experience in the full software development lifecycle while working on real-world business systems and applications.
- • You will translate user needs into technical specifications, design, develop, test, and maintain software solutions, ensuring adherence to security, performance, and quality standards across BMO’s technology ecosystem.
- • You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements, implement new features, troubleshoot system issues, and evaluate emerging technologies for integration into existing platforms.
- • You will follow established release management and version control practices, document code and processes, and apply BMO’s Risk Management Framework to make informed, responsible decisions that protect the bank and support business objectives.
- • You will work independently on complex tasks, exercise judgment in problem-solving, and take measured risks while aligning your work with BMO’s technology strategy and risk appetite.
- • You will be part of BMO’s campus talent program, designed to integrate you into the team from day one through mentorship, peer support, learning platforms, and employee resource groups that foster professional growth and network building.

🎯 Requirements
- • Currently enrolled in an academic program and returning to studies after the internship (only students returning to school are eligible for co-op/internship roles).
- • Foundational proficiency in creative thinking, relationship building, emotional agility, quality assurance/testing, cloud computing, microservices, technology business requirements definition, adaptability, and learning agility.
- • Intermediate proficiency in programming, applications integration, test-driven development, system development lifecycle, troubleshooting, system and technology integration, verbal and written communication, collaboration, analytical and problem-solving skills, and data-driven decision making.
