📋 Description

• As a Software Development Engineer 1 (Site Reliability Engineer 1 - Data) at WEX Inc., you will join a team focused on building and supporting foundational reliability engineering practices to ensure seamless, highly available, and performant services across WEX’s sophisticated products and infrastructure.
• Day to day, you will assist in monitoring and maintaining system reliability and performance, participate in incident management and root cause analysis, develop basic automation scripts to reduce manual operational tasks, collaborate with senior engineers to learn best practices in system design and maintenance, follow established processes for service deployment and change management, and engage in knowledge-sharing sessions to enhance team learning.
• You will be part of WEX’s SRE transformation team, working in an agile, collaborative environment with experienced engineers and leaders who will support, mentor, and challenge you to grow in reliability engineering.
• In this role, you can learn and achieve hands-on experience in reliability engineering, automation, observability, incident response, and data system reliability concepts, while building a strong foundation for a career in site reliability and data infrastructure engineering.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
• Basic understanding of Linux/Unix administration, networking, and system troubleshooting
• Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell
• Basic understanding of data concepts such as tables, schemas, ETL, and data freshness
