📋 Description

• You will be a founding-level Software Engineer at Inkfnd, the next-generation Ethereum Layer-2 incubated by Kraken and built on Optimism’s OP Stack. Your code will directly influence how millions of users experience DeFi—making it faster, cheaper, and more intuitive.
• Partner daily with product managers, designers, and DevOps to translate ambitious product visions into secure, scalable, and user-centric on-chain experiences. You will co-author RFCs, shape technical roadmaps, and own features end-to-end from whiteboard sketch to mainnet deployment.
• Architect and maintain backend services in Node.js and TypeScript that power high-throughput, low-latency interactions with the Ink chain. Expect to design APIs that handle thousands of requests per second while preserving Ethereum-grade security guarantees.
• Build and extend React / React Native frontends that abstract away blockchain complexity for retail and institutional users alike. You will craft state-management layers that stay performant under heavy load and gracefully degrade when RPC endpoints hiccup.
• Integrate third-party APIs (indexers, oracles, bridges, fiat on-ramps) and multiple blockchain networks into a cohesive product surface. Your integrations will be fault-tolerant, idempotent, and thoroughly tested in staging forks of mainnet.
• Create optimized database schemas (PostgreSQL, Redis, or similar) that balance query speed, storage cost, and data integrity. You will profile and tune every query path to keep p99 latencies under aggressive SLAs.
• Contribute to smart-contract interfaces and SDKs that developers use to deploy on Ink. You will review Solidity code, write TypeScript bindings, and ensure ABI compatibility across upgrades.
• Champion observability: embed metrics, tracing, and alerting from day one so the team spots anomalies before users do. You will configure Grafana dashboards and PagerDuty playbooks that wake you up only when it truly matters.
• Mentor junior engineers through pair programming, design reviews, and career-growth plans. You will also help scale the team by interviewing candidates and refining our hiring rubric.
• Uphold rigorous security and compliance standards inherited from Kraken’s decade-long track record. You will run threat models, coordinate external audits, and ship patches with zero-downtime blue-green deployments.
• Foster a remote-first culture that values clear async communication, blameless post-mortems, and continuous learning. Whether you’re in London, Lisbon, or Lagos, your voice will shape both product and process.
• Stay on the bleeding edge of Ethereum scaling research—proto-danksharding, account abstraction, shared sequencers—and prototype how each could enhance Ink’s roadmap.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of full-time software engineering in a large tech org or high-growth startup
• Production experience with blockchain technology and DeFi protocols
• Expert-level proficiency in Node.js, TypeScript, and modern backend patterns
• Demonstrated success building high-volume, low-latency applications with React or React Native
