đź“‹ Description
- • Join WalkMe—now part of SAP—as a Software Engineer in New York City and help power the Digital Adoption Platform (DAP) that is redefining how the world interacts with software. You will sit at the intersection of cutting-edge AI, web architecture, and user-experience innovation, engineering the runtime engine that guides 200+ million users through complex digital workflows every day.
- • Own the end-to-end development of new features for WalkMe’s flagship DeepUI Player, the browser-based engine that “sees” web applications the way humans do and injects contextual guidance, automation, and analytics in real time. From concept to production, you will architect, code, test, and optimize JavaScript modules that must execute flawlessly across thousands of customer environments.
- • Research and adopt the latest web standards, ECMAScript proposals, and browser APIs to keep our runtime ahead of the curve. You will run spike investigations, build proof-of-concepts, and present findings to the team, ensuring WalkMe remains the undisputed leader in digital adoption technology.
- • Debug gnarly production issues that surface in Fortune 500 networks, locked-down federal environments, and everything in between. Using Chrome DevTools, custom proxies, and distributed tracing, you will trace race conditions, memory leaks, and CSP conflicts down to the offending line of code—then ship targeted fixes with zero downtime.
- • Optimize for speed and scale: shrink bundle sizes, reduce render-blocking scripts, and implement lazy-loading strategies so that our JavaScript payload loads in milliseconds even on legacy IE11 instances inside high-security intranets.
- • Write bullet-proof TypeScript, Node.js tooling, and vanilla JavaScript that must survive aggressive minification, strict Content Security Policies, and unpredictable DOM mutations from third-party extensions.
- • Collaborate daily with product managers, UX designers, QA automation engineers, and customer-facing solution architects to translate vague business requirements into precise technical specs and shippable increments.
- • Contribute to our CI/CD pipeline—GitHub Actions, Docker, and Kubernetes—so every pull request triggers automated unit, integration, and visual regression tests, culminating in daily canary releases to 5% of our user base.
- • Mentor junior engineers through pair programming, design reviews, and brown-bag sessions, raising the bar for code quality, testing discipline, and documentation across the DeepUI Player unit.
- • Juggle multiple customer projects simultaneously, balancing urgent federal-security mandates with long-term platform investments. You will use Jira, OKRs, and lightweight Scrum to keep stakeholders informed and deadlines realistic.
- • Champion accessibility, security, and privacy best practices so that every feature you ship meets Section 508, FedRAMP, and WCAG 2.1 standards out of the box.
- • Enjoy the rare thrill of seeing your code light up dashboards in real time—watching millions of end-users complete tasks faster because of the invisible layer you built.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
- • 2+ years of professional experience building and shipping production-grade web applications
- • Expert-level proficiency in Vanilla JavaScript and TypeScript, plus hands-on experience with Node.js tooling and CI/CD pipelines
- • Deep understanding of browser internals, DOM APIs, event loops, and performance optimization techniques
- • Nice-to-have: exposure to federal compliance standards (FedRAMP, FISMA) and secure-coding practices
🏖️ Benefits
- • Hybrid work arrangement—three days in SAP’s NYC office, two days wherever you focus best
- • Quarterly wellness reimbursements, daily BrightBreaks, and an annual Wellness Month every July
- • Competitive total-rewards package: base salary $80k–$117k plus bonus, equity, and region-specific retirement contributions
- • Generous annual leave policy plus RefreshMe Days sprinkled throughout the year to keep burnout at bay
