Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Join Edgesource Corporation, a 25-year technology innovator trusted by the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, the Intelligence Community, and law-enforcement agencies worldwide. You will step into a high-impact role on a mission-critical modernization effort that directly supports national security and public safety.
- • As our Expert Software Developer you will own the redesign, development, and deployment of a decade-old Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) system that has been the backbone of real-time threat detection and response for multiple federal agencies. The legacy platform is being lifted-and-shifted from a legacy secure enclave to a new Red Hat OpenShift environment—an opportunity to architect cloud-native services, containerize monoliths, and introduce DevOps best practices while preserving zero-downtime operations.
- • Spend 70-80 % of your time hands-on coding across the full stack: C# (.NET Framework & .NET Core) for high-throughput micro-services, Angular/TypeScript for intuitive analyst dashboards, Python for data ingestion and analytics, and SQL Server/PostgreSQL for mission-critical persistence. You will also author Helm charts, Dockerfiles, and OpenShift templates to ensure repeatable, secure deployments.
- • Drive the technical roadmap by translating analyst feedback into user stories, sizing epics, and delivering incremental value every two-week sprint. You will participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, quarterly planning-increment (PI) events, and regular demos to federal stakeholders who depend on the system for life-and-death decisions.
- • Champion modern DevOps practices: build GitLab CI/CD pipelines with automated unit, integration, and security scans; implement blue-green and canary releases; integrate Prometheus/Grafana for observability; and enforce Infrastructure-as-Code with Ansible and Terraform to maintain DISA STIG compliance.
- • Collaborate with cross-functional teams of cybersecurity engineers, data scientists, network architects, and cleared analysts to ensure the new platform meets stringent performance, security, and usability requirements. You will conduct threat-modeling sessions, lead code reviews, and mentor junior developers in secure-coding standards and cloud design patterns.
- • Optimize performance at scale: tune JVM and CLR runtimes, refactor synchronous processes into asynchronous message queues (Kafka/RabbitMQ), and leverage OpenShift’s horizontal pod autoscaling to handle 10× traffic spikes during national emergencies without compromising sub-second SLAs.
- • Establish automated testing strategies that cover 90 % code coverage with unit tests (xUnit, Jest), integration tests (Postman/Newman), and end-to-end tests (Cypress). You will also introduce chaos-engineering experiments to validate resiliency against region-level outages.
- • Maintain rigorous documentation: author architecture decision records (ADRs), API contracts (OpenAPI/Swagger), run-books, and security accreditation artifacts (ATO packages) that satisfy NIST 800-53 controls and FedRAMP Moderate baselines.
- • Contribute to Edgesource’s continuous improvement culture by presenting lunch-and-learn sessions on emerging technologies (e.g., service mesh, eBPF, confidential computing) and participating in internal R&D hackathons that may evolve into future contract lines.
