📋 Description

• As a Software Engineer, Agent at Sierra Technologies, you will design and deliver production-grade AI agents that directly drive revenue and transform customer experiences for enterprises across finance, healthcare, and commerce. This role is mission-critical, as you will build scalable, reliable systems that are not prototypes but live, mission-critical AI agents solving real business problems at scale.
• Your day-to-day responsibilities include owning the full Agent Development Life Cycle (ADLC) from initial pilot through deployment and continuous iteration, building and tuning AI agents in production environments, partnering with large enterprises and cutting-edge startups to understand their business challenges and embed AI solutions across their stacks, and collaborating with research, product, and platform teams to shape the future of Sierra’s core platform based on direct customer feedback.
• You will work on high-impact projects such as designing AI agents that outperform human agents in managing subscription churn for telecom and media companies, developing agents capable of troubleshooting broken devices and personalizing product recommendations, creating industry-specific AI agent frameworks for financial services, experimenting with voice model integration at enterprise scale, and facilitating design partnerships for new agent architectures and self-service capabilities.

• In this role, you will develop deep expertise in production AI systems, gain end-to-end ownership of complex technical projects, sharpen your ability to translate customer needs into scalable AI solutions, and contribute to defining industry best practices in AI agent development while working alongside world-class engineers and product leaders in a values-driven, high-intensity environment.

• Experience building and scaling end-to-end production systems
• Strong technical problem-solving skills, especially in fast-changing, ambiguous environments
• A builder and tinkerer’s mindset with high agency — you find creative ways to overcome obstacles and ship
• Comfort working directly with customers to understand their needs and solve real-world problems
• Excellent communication skills — clear, direct, and persuasive across technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience building or deploying AI/LLM systems in production (nice-to-have)
