• As a backend-focused engineer, you will be instrumental in designing, building, and maintaining the robust APIs, scalable backend services, and sophisticated event-driven systems that form the backbone of Elliptic’s AI copilot and other intelligent features. This is an opportunity to work with modern technologies like TypeScript and Node.js, crafting solutions that process complex blockchain data into actionable insights.
• You will collaborate closely with product managers, web engineers, and your engineering lead, transforming intricate requirements into elegant, user-friendly experiences. Your contributions will directly enable compliance teams to trace fund flows more effectively, uncover deeper patterns in transaction data, and respond to emerging risks in real-time, significantly enhancing their operational capabilities.
• The role involves a deep dive into designing and optimizing data models across both relational and NoSQL databases, ensuring efficient and reliable data retrieval and manipulation. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of features, from initial concept and technical design through to implementation and deployment into production.
• A key aspect of your work will be integrating AI and Large Language Model (LLM) frameworks into our backend systems. This involves developing the necessary APIs and workflows to leverage these advanced technologies, making our copilot smarter and more capable of assisting investigators with complex analytical tasks.
• You will actively participate in technical design reviews, strategic planning sessions, and rigorous code reviews. This collaborative approach ensures the continuous improvement of our system quality, maintainability, and overall technical excellence. By sharing knowledge and providing constructive feedback, you will help elevate the skills and practices of the entire team.
• Beyond feature development, you will contribute to our infrastructure and observability practices. While you won't be solely responsible for these areas, a keen interest in how your services perform in production, along with a proactive approach to monitoring and troubleshooting, is essential. This includes understanding metrics, tracing, and alerting to ensure high availability and performance.

🎯 Requirements

• 3–6 years of backend engineering experience with a strong focus on TypeScript and Node.js.
• Proven experience in designing, building, and maintaining production-ready APIs, including integration with external systems.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, specifically AWS services such as Lambda, ECS, and S3, within a production environment.
• Proficiency in SQL databases (e.g., Postgres) and practical experience with NoSQL data stores.
