📋 Description

• As an Infrastructure Product Engineer at Andromeda Technologies Inc., you will be at the forefront of building and scaling the foundational infrastructure that powers our mission to democratize access to cutting-edge AI compute. This is a unique opportunity to operate at the critical intersection of complex infrastructure and user-centric product development, transforming intricate, real-world challenges into robust, scalable product capabilities that directly benefit our diverse customer base of leading AI labs, data centers, and cloud providers.
• Your primary responsibility will be to design, develop, and maintain core platform components. This includes sophisticated solutions for infrastructure orchestration, dynamic provisioning, and comprehensive lifecycle management. You will be instrumental in ensuring our platform can seamlessly manage a global network of compute resources, routing training and inference jobs with unparalleled flexibility and efficiency.
• You will architect and build resilient APIs, microservices, and control planes. These systems will serve as the intelligent layer that abstracts away the complexities of diverse underlying infrastructure types, including virtual machines (VMs), Kubernetes clusters, bare-metal servers, and various scheduling systems. The goal is to provide a unified, high-performance interface for our users.
• A key aspect of this role involves deeply understanding customer usage patterns and translating these insights into actionable product requirements. You will be responsible for delivering impactful features and continuous improvements that enhance the usability, performance, and reliability of our platform, directly addressing the evolving needs of the AI community.
• You will champion automation and develop internal tooling to systematically eliminate manual, repetitive, or ad-hoc operational tasks. This proactive approach is crucial for maintaining operational efficiency, reducing the potential for human error, and freeing up valuable engineering time for more strategic initiatives.
• Enhancing the reliability, performance, and observability of our platform is paramount. You will focus on implementing durable, long-term improvements rather than resorting to quick fixes, ensuring the stability and scalability of our infrastructure as it grows.
• You will collaborate closely with peer engineering teams to establish and maintain clear ownership boundaries between shared platform capabilities and customer-specific solutions. This ensures a well-defined and efficient development process.
• You will be expected to write clean, maintainable, and thoroughly documented code, adhering to best practices with a strong emphasis on long-term sustainability and ease of future development.
• Active participation in technical design discussions is essential. You will contribute your expertise to the architectural evolution of our platform, helping to shape its future direction and technical roadmap.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Infrastructure, Platform, or Backend Engineering roles.
• Strong systems fundamentals, including a deep understanding of Linux, networking, storage, and distributed systems.
• Proven expertise with Kubernetes, Virtual Machines (VMs), or bare-metal environments.
• Advanced software engineering skills, with the ability to build production-grade APIs and services using languages like Python, Go, or similar.
• Extensive experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) and automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Helm.
• Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity, distill complex problems into clear, maintainable abstractions, and a product-focused mindset that prioritizes interfaces, defaults, reliability, and sustainable operations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective collaboration across engineering and product functions.
