Software Engineer, AI (Senior, Back End)

📋 Description

• • As a Senior Backend Software Engineer focused on AI, you will lead the blueprint for AI-driven development across Kustomer’s engineering organization, transforming tooling so engineers can ship high-quality, reliable code faster than ever before.
• • You will design, build, and deploy AI agents and automation that accelerate every phase of the software development lifecycle, from code generation and review through testing, deployment, and monitoring, making AI and agentic participants a core part of how software gets built at Kustomer.
• • You will partner with engineers across teams to identify friction, design solutions, and iterate quickly, championing best practices that drive real adoption of AI-powered tools across the engineering organization.
• • Kustomer is a remote-friendly company with team members across the U.S. and U.K., united by a mission to enhance customer service experiences through its conversational CRM platform, now operating as a standalone company after spinning out from Meta in 2023 with strong backing from Battery, Redpoint, Boldstart, and Norwest.
• • In this role, you will define what great looks like, set the direction for the organization, and build foundational tools that empower every engineer to move faster and ship better, leveraging AI to validate, test, and scale systems without sacrificing trust or quality.
