📋 Description

• As a Software Engineer - AI Systems at X-Bow Systems Inc., you will play a critical role in advancing the frontier of offensive security by designing and implementing AI-powered systems that autonomously discover, validate, and exploit vulnerabilities using large language models. Your work will directly contribute to giving organizations proof-backed security results in hours instead of weeks, helping shift the balance in favor of defenders in an increasingly AI-driven threat landscape.
• You will design and implement LLM-powered software systems that coordinate language models with real-world security tasks, ensuring high performance and zero false positives through sophisticated prompt flows and orchestration layers. This includes architecting a production-grade AI software stack in TypeScript that is testable, maintainable, and scalable, while collaborating closely with AI, security, and engineering teams to turn research concepts into robust, customer-ready solutions.
• You will own projects from ideation through experimentation, deployment, and production monitoring, continuously researching advancements in LLMs to improve system speed, accuracy, and reliability. This involves designing and running experiments, building evaluation frameworks, conducting data analysis, and iterating based on empirical results to push the boundaries of what AI can achieve in offensive security.

• In this role, you will develop deep expertise in LLM orchestration, prompt engineering, and AI system design while gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced, research-driven startup environment. You will grow your ability to solve ambiguous, high-impact problems with structured experimentation and independent thinking, positioning yourself at the forefront of AI-applied security innovation.

🎯 Requirements

• Strong experience building software around LLMs, including prompting, agentic orchestration, fault-tolerance, and integrating LLM components with hard-coded logic.
• Proven software engineering skills in architecting and building production-grade, reliable, and maintainable systems.
• Experience with TypeScript or demonstrated ability to quickly learn new programming languages.
• Strong structured and independent problem-solving abilities, comfortable working with incomplete information and rapidly testing hypotheses.
• Comfort thriving in an energetic environment that blends startup agility with research lab curiosity.
• MSc or equivalent higher degree in computer science, math, physics, or machine learning.
