đź“‹ Description
- • As a Software Engineer at Blossom Health, you will play a pivotal role in scaling an AI-native mental health platform that expands access to affordable, timely, and clinically effective care for thousands of patients and clinicians across the United States. Your work will directly contribute to solving one of the nation’s most pressing public health challenges by enabling psychiatrists to serve more patients through intelligent, scalable technology.
- • You will design and build scalable, reliable systems that power core product workflows, ensuring seamless experiences for both clinicians and patients. This includes developing backend services, APIs, and integrations that support scheduling, clinical documentation, patient engagement, and care coordination — all while maintaining high standards of performance, security, and observability.
- • Day to day, you will ship high-quality code that balances speed with technical rigor, proactively identifying and resolving system reliability risks to own uptime, observability, and performance as first-class engineering concerns. You will leverage cutting-edge AI, particularly large language models (LLMs), to create intuitive and novel experiences — such as AI-assisted note generation, smart scheduling, and personalized patient outreach — that reduce clinician burnout and improve care access.
- • You will conduct thoughtful code reviews and provide technical mentorship, raising the bar for engineering excellence across the team. Your contributions will extend beyond individual tasks to shaping team practices, improving development velocity, and fostering a culture of ownership, curiosity, and continuous learning.
- • You will collaborate closely with product, design, and clinical teams in a high-trust, autonomous environment where engineers are empowered to make technical decisions and influence product direction. With minimal micromanagement, you’ll have the freedom to explore innovative solutions, experiment with emerging technologies, and take end-to-end ownership of features from conception to production.
- • Blossom Health is a Series A-backed startup with over $20M in funding from top-tier investors including Headline, Village Global, and founders of General Catalyst, Flatiron Health, Sword Health, and others. You’ll join a talent-dense team of high-performers who share a deep commitment to mission-driven work, mutual respect, and ambitious goals — all operating from a sunny SoHo office in New York City with a hybrid expectation of 5 days/week in-person.
- • In this role, you will grow not only as an engineer but as a builder and problem-solver tackling a meaningful, large-scale societal challenge. You’ll gain firsthand experience in hyper-growth startup dynamics, learn to navigate ambiguity with confidence, and develop expertise in applying AI to real-world healthcare problems — positioning you at the forefront of the next generation of health tech innovation.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent professional experience
- • 2+ years of professional software engineering experience in high-quality, fast-paced environments
- • Proficiency in TypeScript and/or Python, with preferred experience building LLM-powered applications
- • Ability to design and build production systems end-to-end with minimal oversight
- • Comfort working across the full software stack and learning new technologies quickly to drive outcomes
- • Authorization to work in the U.S. and willingness to work in-person in NYC (SoHo) 5 days per week
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive salary and equity package with meaningful growth opportunities
- • Best-in-class health, dental, and vision insurance coverage
- • Unlimited PTO with a focus on outcomes, not hours worked
- • Regular team outings, offsites, and a well-stocked SoHo office with snacks and collaborative spaces
