đź“‹ Description
- • HackerOne is at the forefront of revolutionizing offensive security, empowering organizations to build a safer internet by harmonizing human ingenuity with cutting-edge artificial intelligence. As a Software Engineer on our dynamic AI Platform team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of AI-driven security solutions. Your contributions will be instrumental in developing next-generation AI security capabilities, including our sophisticated in-platform AI security agent, codenamed Hai. This role offers a unique opportunity to implement groundbreaking AI-powered features that will significantly enhance vulnerability discovery, streamline security analysis workflows, and expand the horizons of how thousands of our enterprise customers detect and respond to an ever-evolving landscape of cyber threats.
- • You will be a key architect and implementer of AI-driven features, focusing on an "AI First" mindset. This involves building and seamlessly integrating advanced AI capabilities, such as Large Language Model (LLM)-powered workflows, Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines, and intelligent orchestration components. These innovations will directly contribute to bolstering vulnerability detection efficacy and advancing security automation across our platform.
- • A core aspect of this role is demonstrating "First Principles Problem Solving." You will be tasked with dissecting complex AI and security challenges into their fundamental components. This analytical approach will enable you to identify core assumptions, develop innovative solutions, and ensure the implementation of systems that are not only effective but also simple and maintainable in the long run.
- • We emphasize "Data-Driven Decision Making." You will leverage data extensively to evaluate the performance of AI models, rigorously test hypotheses, analyze system telemetry, and iteratively refine features. Your work will be guided by measurable impact, ensuring that every enhancement delivers tangible value to our customers and strengthens our security posture.
- • "Change Agility" is paramount in the fast-paced world of AI and cybersecurity. You will need to adapt swiftly to evolving AI frameworks, shifting product requirements, and emerging security considerations, all while maintaining a consistent momentum in delivering high-quality solutions.
- • You will directly contribute to the development and enhancement of our proprietary AI security agent, Hai. This includes implementing advanced features that enable natural language insights, sophisticated reasoning workflows, and the secure, reliable interaction with AI models.
- • A significant part of your responsibility will involve building and maintaining robust APIs and services. These will serve as the critical conduits for secure and efficient interactions between our AI models, our internal systems, and various third-party platforms, ensuring seamless integration and data flow.
- • Collaboration is key to our success. You will partner closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Security Research, and Customer Success. This collaborative effort will involve clarifying requirements, translating intricate user needs into actionable technical tasks, and ultimately delivering reliable, impactful solutions that meet and exceed customer expectations.
- • To ensure we remain at the cutting edge, you will be expected to stay abreast of the latest advancements and emerging trends in AI and AI security. You will actively share your learnings with the team, fostering a culture of continuous learning, and strategically incorporate relevant innovations into your work to maintain HackerOne's leadership position.
- • This role is designed for individuals who thrive in a flexible work environment. While the position is remote, it is targeted for candidates residing within approximately 50 miles of Seattle, WA, or Austin, TX. This geographic focus allows for occasional in-person collaboration, fostering team cohesion and community, while still preserving the significant benefits of remote work. You must be able and willing to come to the office once per week, typically on Thursdays, to participate in team meetings and collaborative sessions.
- • HackerOne is committed to fostering a strong and inclusive culture. We operate with a "Customer Obsessed" mindset, prioritizing customer outcomes in all our decisions and actions. We "Default to Disclosure," maintaining transparency and integrity to build trust and accountability. Our employees, researchers, customers, and partners "Win Together" through empowerment, inclusion, respect, and accountability, creating a synergistic environment where everyone can achieve their best.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3+ years of experience as a software engineer, with a proven track record of building and deploying production systems.
- • Hands-on experience integrating Large Language Models (LLMs) or other generative AI models into applications.
- • Proficiency with machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or HuggingFace Transformers.
- • Familiarity with agentic frameworks (e.g., ReAct, AutoGen, LangChain, Semantic Kernel) or RAG architectures, prompt engineering, fine-tuning, or LLM evaluation techniques.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Comprehensive health insurance (medical, vision, dental), life, and disability insurance.
- • Equity stock options, providing ownership in HackerOne's growth.
- • Retirement savings plans to support your long-term financial well-being.
- • Generous paid time off, including public holidays and unlimited PTO, promoting work-life balance.
- • Paid maternity and parental leave, supporting new parents during this significant life event.
