Full Job Description
📋 Description
- • Join Engflow as a Software Engineer, specializing in the critical domains of build systems, compilers, and programming languages. This is a unique opportunity to work alongside the very engineers who architected Bazel, a leading open-source build system, and to make significant contributions to other foundational open-source projects such as gRPC, Goma, Soong, and CMake. At Engflow, our mission is to revolutionize developer productivity by dramatically accelerating software builds and tests. We are building a cutting-edge, cloud-based distributed service that optimizes developer workflows through advanced remote execution and intelligent caching strategies. Our solutions are designed to enhance efficiency, boost productivity, and elevate the overall quality of software products. We are backed by prominent investors who recognize our potential to redefine how companies approach software development and the delivery of well-tested products.
- • In this role, you will be at the forefront of tackling some of the most complex challenges in the software engineering landscape. This includes optimizing real-time performance, ensuring massive scalability, and refining the intricacies of build systems. You will have the freedom to experiment with the latest technologies, integrating them into the Engflow platform to drive innovation and deliver superior developer experiences. Your work will directly impact the build processes of leading technology companies, including Brave Software, Blue River Technology, and Snap, empowering their engineering teams to ship code faster and with greater confidence.
- • Key responsibilities will revolve around the core development of our platform. You will delve deep into build systems and compilers, focusing on enhancing their scalability and real-time performance characteristics. A significant aspect of your role will involve contributing to and improving established open-source projects, fostering a collaborative spirit within the wider developer community. You will be instrumental in solving intricate problems and architecting scalable systems that significantly accelerate developer productivity for a global clientele of tech companies. This includes collaborating closely with our team of core Bazel engineers, sharing knowledge, and collectively pushing the boundaries of what's possible.
- • Furthermore, you will be expected to maintain the highest standards for software delivery at scale, ensuring operational excellence and reliability. This involves not only developing new features but also ensuring the robustness and maintainability of existing systems. You will have the chance to influence the technical direction of Engflow, contributing to strategic decisions about our technology stack and product roadmap. The ideal candidate possesses a genuine passion for optimization, a deep understanding of build system mechanics, and a strong desire to improve the developer experience for engineers worldwide. You will be a key player in a fast-growing company that is truly at the vanguard of developer experience innovation.
- • We are looking for individuals who are not afraid to dive into complex codebases, analyze performance bottlenecks, and implement elegant solutions. Your contributions will directly translate into tangible benefits for our customers, allowing them to iterate faster, reduce build times, and ultimately deliver better products to their users. This role offers a unique blend of deep technical work, open-source engagement, and direct impact on the productivity of some of the world's leading technology organizations. You will be part of a culture that values innovation, collaboration, and a relentless pursuit of excellence in developer tooling.
- • The Engflow platform is designed to provide significant speedups, often by a factor of 10 or more, for software builds. Complementing this, our observability platform offers invaluable, actionable insights that enable continuous optimization of build and test processes. By joining Engflow, you are not just taking a job; you are becoming part of a movement to fundamentally improve how software is built and delivered in the modern era. We believe in empowering engineers with the best tools, and this role is central to that mission. Your work will be visible, impactful, and instrumental in shaping the future of developer productivity tools.
