  • • Aurora Solar is at the forefront of the renewable energy revolution, dedicated to making solar power accessible and straightforward for everyone. Our mission is to create a future where solar energy is the norm, and we achieve this through our award-winning software that empowers solar professionals with data and technology. We've already facilitated the design of millions of solar projects, enabling solar companies to sell, design, and install residential and commercial solar arrays with unparalleled accuracy, efficiency, and scalability. Recognized as one of "The Best Remote Companies To Work for in 2025" by BuiltIn.com and a Certified Green Business, Aurora is committed to sustainability and fostering a positive work environment.
  • • The Aurora Consumer team is instrumental in shaping the future of solar energy in America. We operate the nation's first real-time solar marketplace, connecting consumers directly with top-tier solar installers. Our strategy leverages modern digital marketing to generate consumer demand while simultaneously streamlining the solar buying journey. If you thrive in a collaborative environment, enjoy creative problem-solving, and are driven by measurable impact, you will find a welcoming and stimulating home with us. We are passionate about providing clarity, transparency, and a range of options to homeowners, ensuring they fully understand the process and financial implications of adopting solar energy before connecting with local installers.
  • • In this pivotal Software Engineer role within the Consumer team, you will be responsible for building and enhancing the end-to-end user experiences that guide homeowners through understanding their solar options, evaluating financing opportunities, and connecting with qualified installers in their vicinity. This position offers the unique opportunity to work across the full technology stack and tackle diverse challenges within the consumer journey. Your contributions will span the development of new product features, the implementation of experimentation and analytics frameworks, the creation of essential operational tooling, and the development of robust integrations that ensure the health and measurability of our consumer funnel.
  • • This is a high-ownership role designed for an individual who can operate with agility, communicate with exceptional clarity, and make sound, strategic trade-offs. You will play a key part in delivering Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) that align with critical business objectives. Subsequently, you will be instrumental in iterating on these products based on direct customer feedback and real-world data, continuously refining the user experience. Your work will directly contribute to the growth and success of our consumer platform, making a tangible difference in accelerating the adoption of solar energy.
  • • Key responsibilities include partnering closely with a cross-functional team of engineers, product managers, and designers to conceptualize, build, and continuously improve our consumer-facing platform. You will be involved in the entire software development lifecycle, from initial ideation and design through to implementation, rigorous testing, and successful deployment. A significant aspect of this role involves championing code quality by actively participating in thoughtful code reviews and implementing robust testing practices to guarantee the reliability, scalability, and maintainability of our systems. Furthermore, you will contribute to raising the overall technical bar of the team through a commitment to continuous improvement, proactively proposing innovative solutions, actively participating in retrospectives to identify areas for growth, and strengthening our team's development processes and best practices. Your efforts will directly impact the user experience and the company's mission to accelerate solar adoption.
