Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Join Lucidworks, a pioneering force in digital transformation, and become an integral part of our Data Acquisition team. We empower some of the world's largest retailers, financial services firms, manufacturers, and B2B commerce organizations to create exceptional digital experiences powered by intelligent search and personalization. At Lucidworks, we understand that the foundation of a superior digital journey lies in robust search and browse capabilities. Our cutting-edge Deep Learning technology is designed to capture intricate user behavior patterns and leverage advanced machine learning algorithms to seamlessly connect individuals with the products, content, and information they seek. Leading brands such as American Airlines, Lenovo, Red Hat, and Cisco Systems entrust Lucidworks' comprehensive suite of products to drive their commerce, customer service, and internal workplace applications, ultimately delighting their customers and empowering their employees.
- • As a Software Engineer on the Data Acquisition team, you will play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining the essential connector plugins that form the backbone of Lucidworks’ search and personalization products. These connectors are the critical conduits that enable the indexing of diverse client data from a vast array of content repositories. This includes, but is not limited to, file systems, relational and NoSQL databases, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, and internal company intranets. Your contributions will directly impact the ability of our clients to surface relevant information and drive business outcomes.
- • This role offers a unique opportunity to work on both the development of new, innovative connector plugins and the ongoing maintenance and enhancement of existing ones. You will be responsible for addressing bugs, adapting to updates in downstream repository structures, and implementing new features to meet evolving client demands. Furthermore, you will contribute to the evolution of our new Data Integration Platform. This platform is being meticulously crafted to be a robust, modern, and highly efficient solution for ingesting data from diverse client source systems, ensuring reliability and performance at scale.
- • We are seeking engineers who are adept at leveraging modern developer tooling, including AI-assisted coding and debugging tools such as large language models. The ideal candidate will possess strong independent reasoning skills and a pragmatic approach to utilizing these advanced tools. We believe in empowering engineers to use technology to accelerate their understanding and execution of tasks, rather than replacing the fundamental need for sound system design judgment, rigorous debugging practices, and critical thinking. Your ability to balance innovation with a deep understanding of software engineering principles will be key to your success.
- • In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring that our clients' data is accurately, efficiently, and reliably integrated into their search ecosystems. This involves a deep understanding of data structures, API integrations, and various data storage technologies. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management and other engineering groups, to define requirements, design solutions, and deliver high-quality software.
- • Your responsibilities will extend to troubleshooting complex integration issues, optimizing connector performance, and contributing to the overall architecture and scalability of the Data Integration Platform. You will have the opportunity to work with a variety of programming languages and frameworks, and to continuously learn and adapt to new technologies in the rapidly evolving field of data integration and search.
- • We are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment where all employees feel valued and empowered to contribute their best work. We are an Equal Opportunity employer and welcome talent from all backgrounds, orientations, origins, and identities. Your unique perspective will be a valuable asset to our team.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proven experience in software development, with a strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming principles.
- • Proficiency in one or more relevant programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, Go).
- • Experience with developing and consuming APIs (RESTful, SOAP).
- • Familiarity with database technologies (SQL and/or NoSQL) and data modeling concepts.
- • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
- • Familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools and a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive salary and equity package.
- • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.
- • Generous paid time off and holidays.
- • Opportunities for professional development and continuous learning.
- • Remote work flexibility, allowing you to work from Jamaica.
- • A collaborative and inclusive work environment that values diversity and innovation.
