- • Join Notion's Enterprise Engineering Team as a Software Engineer, where you will play a pivotal role in supporting and scaling our largest and most critical customers. This is a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge features that directly impact the success of enterprise clients, ensuring Notion remains a trusted and indispensable tool for their complex workflows.
- • As a Software Engineer on this team, you will be at the forefront of developing and enhancing robust security features. This includes implementing and refining Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems, Data Loss Prevention (DLP) mechanisms, comprehensive audit logging capabilities, and sophisticated fine-grained access control settings. Your work will be crucial in safeguarding sensitive enterprise data and ensuring compliance with stringent security standards.
- • You will also be instrumental in building and maintaining seamless integrations with customer identity providers (IDPs) and System for Cross-domain Identity Management (SCIM). This involves ensuring that Notion integrates flawlessly with enterprise personnel systems, simplifying user provisioning and management for our largest clients.
- • A significant aspect of your role will involve tackling performance challenges associated with serving large enterprise customers. You will leverage new and innovative tools and techniques to enhance scaling performance, ensuring that Notion remains fast, reliable, and responsive, even under heavy load and for organizations with thousands of users.
- • Beyond core feature development, you will occasionally provide "white glove" service for unique customer needs, requiring creative problem-solving and a deep understanding of how Notion can be tailored to specific enterprise requirements. This might involve collaborating directly with customer technical teams to implement bespoke solutions.
- • You will also act as a key technical consultant for Notion's Sales teams, providing expertise and insights during the pre-sales process for new enterprise customers. Your input will be vital in understanding customer needs, proposing effective solutions, and demonstrating the value of Notion's enterprise capabilities.
- • This role offers a broad surface area, allowing you to own significant portions of important features and infrastructure. Over time, your contributions will foster substantial growth in your technical and professional skill set.
- • You will deepen your infrastructure skills by working with and adopting new tools designed to enhance scaling performance for our largest customers. This includes exploring and implementing advanced architectural patterns and technologies.
- • You will significantly expand your security expertise, not only by shipping critical security features but also by collaborating closely with Notion's dedicated security teams. This cross-functional interaction will provide invaluable insights into best practices and emerging threats.
- • Your communication skills will be honed through regular interaction with a diverse set of stakeholders. You will engage with Engineering, Product, and Design teams to define requirements and drive feature development, as well as communicate directly with customers and Notion Sales collaborators to ensure alignment and successful project outcomes.
- • We are looking for individuals who possess a strong sense of urgency and agency, understanding that you are the owner of your own impact and success. A deep customer focus is paramount; you will be driven to go the extra mile to truly understand and address customer needs.
- • You will bring deep expertise in at least one data storage technology, whether it be a cache or a database (SQL or NoSQL), and be eager to acquire knowledge in additional technologies on the job.
- • A commitment to thoughtful and thorough integration and unit testing is essential to ensure the quality and reliability of the software you deliver.
- • An appreciation for beautiful design and full-stack software craft will be valued, as we strive to build not only functional but also elegant and user-friendly products.
- • While not requiring AI expertise, you should be curious and willing to adopt AI tools to enhance your productivity and deliver superior results, embracing the future of software development.
- • Nice-to-have experience includes directly communicating with enterprise customers of 5000+ people and maintaining SCIM/SIEM/HRIS integrations, which would provide a strong foundation for this role.
