- • Build robust, production-grade enterprise systems that guarantee zero data loss and maintain comprehensive audit logs capturing every event across the sustainability platform.
- • Own end-to-end delivery of product capabilities, from initial design and implementation through ongoing production support and incident resolution.
- • Shape product roadmap by directly incorporating customer needs and business context rather than passively executing predefined tickets.
- • Work across the full stack, developing backend services, RESTful APIs, third-party integrations, and frontend admin tools used by enterprise customers and internal teams.
- • Design and maintain reliable integrations with ambiguous or inconsistent third-party APIs, including SCIM and other enterprise identity protocols, while handling unpredictable external system behaviors.
- • Develop synthetic, realistic demo data environments to support sales and customer success teams in demonstrating platform capabilities to enterprise prospects.
- • Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, customer success, product, design, and other engineering teams to align technical execution with business objectives and customer outcomes.
- • Contribute to the expansion and evolution of Watershed’s enterprise platform as it scales to support more global customers and regulatory frameworks like CSRD.
- • Deliver infrastructure that directly enables enterprise customers to measure, report, and reduce their carbon footprint, unlocking revenue and supporting compliance initiatives.
- • Apply strong full-stack development practices including continuous deployment, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines to ensure high-quality, scalable software delivery.
- • Operate within a distributed, multinational engineering team with colleagues across San Francisco, New York, London, Mexico City, and remote locations in the US and Europe.
- • Work in-office four days per week at the Mexico City office, as this role is not designated as fully remote and requires in-person collaboration.
- • Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including architecture reviews, code reviews, documentation, and post-launch monitoring and optimization.
- • Navigate complex enterprise requirements around data integrity, auditability, compliance, and system reliability in a mission-critical sustainability analytics environment.
- • Contribute to a culture of ownership, transparency, and collaboration while helping shape the engineering culture of Watershed’s new Mexico City office.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of experience building products with JavaScript/TypeScript or a similar object-oriented programming language
- • Strong full-stack development skills and proficiency in SDLC practices including continuous deployment
- • Experience building enterprise products and understanding enterprise customer expectations around quality and service reliability
- • Experience working in a multinational, distributed engineering organization
