- • Build scalable, maintainable front-end applications using Angular and TypeScript to power Kin’s insurance platform, ensuring high performance and optimal user experience for both customers and internal teams.
- • Lead the end-to-end development of small to medium-sized software projects from planning and design through deployment and post-launch support in a fast-paced, remote-first Agile environment.
- • Set and uphold high engineering standards for code quality, architecture, and maintainability by exemplifying best practices and conducting peer reviews.
- • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through pair programming, code reviews, and technical guidance to elevate team-wide development practices and foster growth.
- • Drive front-end architecture decisions that improve scalability, performance, and developer experience, including the design and expansion of reusable UI component libraries.
- • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, QA, Actuarial, and Insurance Product teams to translate complex business requirements into clean, intuitive technical solutions.
- • Contribute to technical roadmaps aligned with product goals, ensuring front-end systems evolve in sync with company-wide priorities and customer needs.
- • Develop and maintain shared component libraries using modern web standards, adhering to methodologies such as BEM and Object-Oriented CSS for consistent, modular design.
- • Participate actively in Agile ceremonies including daily standups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and backlog refinement to ensure transparent and efficient delivery.
- • Integrate front-end applications with backend APIs, ensuring seamless data flow and robust error handling across systems.
- • Optimize application performance by identifying and resolving bottlenecks related to rendering, state management, and network latency.
- • Advocate for user-centered design principles and accessibility standards to ensure all digital experiences are inclusive and easy to use.
- • Provide technical expertise and support across the front-end codebase, troubleshooting production issues and implementing fixes with urgency and precision.
- • Contribute to the continuous improvement of development workflows, tooling, and CI/CD pipelines to enhance team velocity and reduce technical debt.
- • Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders to align expectations and drive informed decision-making.
- • Stay current with front-end technologies and industry trends, evaluating and recommending new tools or patterns that improve development efficiency or user outcomes.
🎯 Requirements
- • Experience building production applications with TypeScript and Angular 2+
- • Proven track record of shipping small to medium-sized software projects in a collaborative environment
- • Familiarity with state management patterns such as NgRx or Redux
- • Experience developing reusable UI components and shared component libraries
- • Comfort working in a fast-paced startup with strong ownership and collaboration skills
- • Ability to work within Central or Eastern time zones
