- • As a Software Engineer II on Toast's Enterprise team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our platform for large-scale hospitality businesses. You will be instrumental in designing, developing, and deploying robust features that cater to the evolving and expanding needs of our enterprise clientele, who are increasingly leveraging Toast to manage multiple locations and drive significant business growth.
- • This is a unique opportunity to work across the entire Toast ecosystem, gaining deep expertise in our Point of Sale (POS) systems, sophisticated backend services, and intuitive front-end applications. You will contribute to building solutions that empower our enterprise customers to operate more efficiently, scale their operations seamlessly, and unlock new avenues for success.
- • Your responsibilities will encompass the full software development lifecycle. This includes collaborating closely with Product Managers and UX designers to translate business requirements and user needs into elegant technical designs and functional specifications. You will be a key contributor in defining the next generation of enterprise features, ensuring they are scalable, reliable, and aligned with our strategic vision.
- • A significant part of your role will involve hands-on development. You will write clean, efficient, and maintainable code, primarily focusing on backend services and APIs. We encourage a proactive approach to quality, which includes building comprehensive automated tests to ensure the stability and integrity of your work. This commitment to quality extends to the deployment process, where you will be involved in rolling out new features to customers and closely monitoring their performance and success.

🎯 Requirements
- • 2+ years of professional experience in designing, building, and maintaining backend services and APIs.
- • Proficiency in an Object-Oriented Programming language, with a strong preference for Java or Kotlin.
- • Experience in delivering high-quality, reliable services to production environments.
- • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment with a shared codebase.
- • A strong focus on delivering positive impact and value for customers.
- • Experience building complex web applications with React (nice-to-have).
- • Experience building Android applications with Kotlin (nice-to-have).
