📋 Description

• CloudZero is seeking a highly motivated and innovative Software Engineer II to join our groundbreaking new Strike Team. This is a unique opportunity for an ambitious engineer early in their career to make a significant impact across our entire platform, working on high-value customer features that span multiple product areas. You will be part of a small, agile, and fast-moving team, consisting of yourself and one other engineer, tasked with rapidly delivering solutions to complex customer problems. This role is designed as a 6-9 month rotational program, offering an accelerated path to professional growth and a comprehensive understanding of our full-stack architecture.
• As a member of the Strike Team, you will leverage cutting-edge AI tools as a primary force multiplier. This goes beyond simple code completion; you will actively utilize agentic AI workflows with tools like Cursor and Claude to generate, critically review, and iterate on code. Your expertise will lie in crafting precise prompts, performing rigorous code reviews, and ensuring that all delivered solutions meet the highest standards of quality and reliability, preventing any "slop" from reaching production.
• You will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of features, from initial concept to production deployment, typically within a 1-4 week timeframe. This involves working across our entire platform, including backend services, frontend user interfaces, and data pipelines. You will tackle diverse challenges, such as building custom backend pipelines to integrate with new AI SaaS tools requested by our sophisticated customer base, which includes some of the leading engineering teams globally.
• A core aspect of this role is rapid learning and domain exploration. You will frequently dive into unfamiliar areas of the codebase. Your primary approach to understanding new systems and technologies will involve intelligently applying AI tools to ask questions, explore functionalities, and accelerate your learning curve. This hands-on experience will build a broad and deep technical foundation.
• Collaboration and seamless handoffs are crucial. You will work closely with domain experts for design feedback and thorough code reviews. Upon successful completion and review, you will hand off the features you build to the respective owning teams for ongoing maintenance and operation. This "ship it, they run it" model ensures efficient product development and clear ownership.
• This rotational program is specifically engineered to fast-track your career development. Upon successful completion of the 6-9 month rotation, you will possess extensive full-stack context, a tangible portfolio of shipped features, and a clear pathway to promotion to the Senior Software Engineer I level. You will then be exceptionally well-prepared to join one of our established product teams, bringing your unique experience and broad platform knowledge.

🎯 Requirements

• 3 years of professional software engineering experience, preferably in B2B SaaS or data-intensive products, with a proven track record of shipping production code.
• Proficiency in Python for backend development and TypeScript/React for frontend development, with a strong willingness to work across the full stack.
• Demonstrated active daily use of agentic AI workflow tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude) for code generation, debugging, and learning, beyond basic autocomplete.
• A "Wait for No One" attitude, characterized by proactivity, initiative, and a drive to solve problems independently.
