- ⢠Anrok is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Software Engineer, Infrastructure to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in designing, building, and operating the critical systems that underpin our cutting-edge tax automation platform. Your contributions will directly impact the reliability, security, scalability, and performance of Anrok's services, ensuring our customers can expand globally without the burden of complex compliance. As the digital economy continues its rapid expansion, businesses face increasing challenges in navigating sales tax across numerous jurisdictions. Anrok solves this by providing an end-to-end automated solution, and as an Infrastructure Software Engineer, you will be at the forefront of maintaining and enhancing the robust infrastructure that makes this possible.
- ⢠Your day-to-day responsibilities will be multifaceted and impactful. You will take direct ownership of Anrok's infrastructure, ensuring its unwavering reliability, robust security posture, exceptional scalability, and optimal performance. This involves proactively identifying potential issues and implementing solutions before they affect our users. A significant part of your role will be to drive key technical decisions regarding our infrastructure architecture and implementation, shaping the future of our platform. You will be tasked with identifying and rectifying bugs and addressing technical debt within existing systems, ensuring a clean and efficient codebase. Furthermore, you will collaborate closely with a talented team of engineers and management to conceptualize and build high-impact solutions that align with Anrok's strategic goals. This collaborative effort ensures that our infrastructure not only meets current demands but is also prepared for future growth and evolving technological landscapes.
- ⢠Within this role, you will have the opportunity to engage in a variety of exciting project areas. One key focus will be on improving system observability, developing and implementing tools that empower product engineers to gain deeper insights into application performance and behavior. This will involve setting up comprehensive monitoring, logging, and tracing systems. Another critical area of your work will involve scaling our database layer. This could include implementing strategies such as sharding to distribute data across multiple servers, optimizing replication for high availability and read performance, and strategically splitting out services to create more manageable and scalable microservices. You will also be responsible for refactoring existing systems, a crucial task that involves modernizing our architecture to accommodate present needs and anticipate evolving requirements, ensuring long-term maintainability and efficiency.
- ⢠You will be joining a company that is at the forefront of tax automation, serving impressive clients such as 40% of Forbes Top 50 AI companies, 20% of Forbes Top 100 Cloud companies, and industry leaders like Notion, Anthropic, and Cursor. Anrok is backed by significant investment from top-tier venture capital firms, including Sequoia, Spark, Index, and Khosla Ventures, demonstrating strong market validation and growth potential. The infrastructure team plays a vital role in supporting this growth, ensuring that our platform remains stable and performant as we scale. This is an opportunity to work on challenging problems with a talented and supportive team, contributing to a product that is fundamentally changing how businesses operate globally.
- ⢠In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to significantly deepen your expertise in cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, and database management at scale. You will gain hands-on experience with modern infrastructure-as-code tools like Pulumi, and work within a sophisticated cloud environment, likely GCP. The emphasis on reliability, security, and scalability means you will develop a keen understanding of best practices in these critical areas. You will also hone your problem-solving skills, learning to dissect complex technical challenges and devise elegant, maintainable solutions. By collaborating with experienced engineers and contributing to high-impact projects, you will not only enhance your technical capabilities but also develop your ability to influence technical direction and mentor others, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team. This role offers a chance to own significant pieces of infrastructure and see the direct impact of your work on a rapidly growing company.
