• • As a Software Engineer Intern at Coinbase, you will be at the forefront of developing next-generation, crypto-forward products and features. You will tackle unique, large-scale, and highly complex technical challenges that lie at the intersection of web-scale applications and cutting-edge blockchain technology. Your work will directly contribute to making cryptocurrency accessible to everyone worldwide, involving the development of real-time applications with high-frequency, low-latency updates, and the management of secure, containerized infrastructure running in the cloud.
• • You will have the exciting opportunity to express your interest in joining one of our core Product Group organizations: Base, Developer, Consumer, Institutional, or Platform. Your application will be primarily considered for your top team choice, allowing you to align your internship experience with your specific interests and career aspirations.
• • **Base Team:** Contribute to Coinbase's Ethereum Layer 2 network, built on the OP Stack. You will help create seamless integrations, fiat on-ramps, and essential tools that connect developers to over 108 million users and more than $100 billion in assets, scaling the crypto economy.
• • **Consumer Team:** Focus on building the most intuitive and rapid way for users to engage with crypto through the Coinbase retail app. You will play a key role in advancing our mission to become the leading self-custody wallet, working on products like the Coinbase app, Advanced Trade, dApps, and staking, all paving the way for the future of the Onchain ecosystem.
• • **Developer Team:** Empower builders in the crypto space by working on tools such as Wallet-as-a-Service (WaaS) and Coinbase Cloud. You will contribute to API-based access across multiple blockchain networks and develop Web3 APIs, services, and infrastructure that will power the next generation of software applications.
• • **Institutional Team:** Support Coinbase's business operations for thousands of large financial institutions. You will help build scalable platforms, advanced crypto technologies, and user-friendly interfaces for secure digital asset custody and participation in the crypto economy, covering areas like staking, governance, and Onchain gateways across web, mobile, and browser extensions.
• • **Platform Team:** Develop the scalable, compliant, and trusted systems that form the backbone of Coinbase's products. You will work on foundational systems within teams like Identity, FinHub, and Payments, maximizing efficiency, enabling cross-company innovation, and leveraging machine learning for intelligent automation and decision-making.
• • In this role, you will be responsible for writing high-quality, well-tested code that directly addresses customer needs. You will collaborate closely with experienced engineers, designers, product managers, and senior leadership to translate our product and technical vision into a concrete and actionable roadmap.
