- • Join Zip’s 12-week Summer 2026 internship in San Francisco and spend your break shipping production code that is used by Fortune 100 companies to manage billions of dollars in spend. You will be embedded on a full-stack product squad, paired with a dedicated mentor, and given a real roadmap item that reaches users within days—not months.
- • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of a feature: from white-boarding user stories with Product and Design, to writing Python/React/GraphQL code, to instrumenting observability and running the deploy that puts it in front of Zip’s 1M+ end-users. Recent interns delivered the Internal AI bot that now answers 30% of all internal support questions, and the Devbox cloud environment that cut new-hire onboarding from 3 hours to 15 minutes.
- • Architect resilient, horizontally-scalable services on AWS (Lambda, DynamoDB, EventBridge) while learning Zip’s event-driven patterns and rigorous code-review culture. You will write Type-safe React components, craft GraphQL schemas, and ensure every PR is backed by unit, integration, and end-to-end tests that run in our CI/CD pipeline.
- • Collaborate daily with customer-facing teams to understand pain points in procurement workflows and translate them into elegant technical solutions. You will join customer calls, synthesize feedback, and iterate quickly—often shipping improvements the same week they are requested.
- • Contribute to Zip’s open-source style guides, shared component libraries, and internal tooling. Whether you are improving our design-system tokens or adding a new ESLint rule, your code will raise the bar for the entire engineering organization.
- • Present your work in our Friday “Show & Ship” demo to the entire company, receive executive feedback, and see your feature adopted by teams at OpenAI, Snowflake, and Coinbase. Every intern leaves with a portfolio piece that has measurable business impact.
- • Participate in architecture reviews, incident retrospectives, and weekly learning sessions led by engineers from Airbnb, Stripe, and Google. You will gain exposure to advanced topics such as distributed transactions, multi-tenant isolation, and AI-driven spend analytics.
- • Enjoy a culture that prizes psychological safety, direct communication, and rapid iteration. You will be encouraged to question assumptions, propose bold ideas, and take calculated risks—all while supported by senior engineers who view mentorship as a first-class responsibility.
🎯 Requirements
- • Currently pursuing a BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Physics, or a related coding-intensive discipline, with an expected graduation date between December 2026 and June 2027
- • Demonstrated experience building web applications and REST/GraphQL APIs; familiarity with Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, React, or similar modern stacks
- • Strong grasp of computer-science fundamentals—data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design—and the ability to apply them in a fast-moving codebase
- • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
- • Prior internship, co-op, or significant project experience in a high-growth startup or top-tier tech company is highly preferred
