- • As a Senior Software Engineer at USAA, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining mission-critical software systems that empower military members and their families to achieve financial security. Your work directly supports USAA’s commitment to delivering exceptional service through innovative, reliable technology solutions.
- • You will identify and manage technical risks across business activities, ensuring compliance with risk and control policies while leading the end-to-end software development lifecycle — from requirements gathering and design to coding, testing, documentation, and implementation.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include designing and developing significant technical solutions using SAP FS-CD, S/4HANA Finance, FI-CA, SAP ABAP, SAFE 5 Agile, and Python; leading code and design reviews to uphold quality standards; organizing and guiding team efforts to deliver features on schedule; resolving complex production issues through end-to-end troubleshooting across integrated systems; and mentoring junior engineers to foster technical growth and team capability.
- • You will collaborate closely with senior and lead engineers, contribute to architectural discussions influencing key technology directions within your domain, and actively participate in agile ceremonies to ensure alignment, transparency, and continuous improvement.

🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Software, Computer Engineering, Applied Sciences, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field, plus 6 years of relevant experience; or 8 years of equivalent work experience in lieu of a degree.
- • Proven expertise in SAP FS-CD, S/4HANA Finance, FI-CA, SAP ABAP, SAFE 5 Agile framework, and Python programming language.
- • Demonstrated ability to lead code and design reviews, manage end-to-end software development lifecycles, resolve complex production issues, and mentor junior engineers in a collaborative team environment.
