• Engage in the full software development lifecycle, from design and implementation to testing and deployment, for critical components of our storage platform.
• Write high-quality, maintainable, and efficient code primarily in C, with opportunities to utilize Python and Go for various development tasks and scripting.
• Operate within a Linux environment, leveraging its powerful tools and capabilities to build and manage complex storage systems.
• Collaborate closely with a team of experienced engineers, sharing knowledge, participating in code reviews, and contributing to architectural discussions.
• Debug and troubleshoot complex issues in distributed systems, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions to ensure system stability and performance.
• Optimize existing code and algorithms to improve storage performance, reduce latency, and enhance overall system efficiency.
• Contribute to the open-source community, reflecting Scality's commitment to transparency and collaborative development.
• Develop a deep understanding of distributed systems principles, including consistency, availability, fault tolerance, and performance optimization.
• Participate in the design and evolution of our storage architecture, proposing innovative solutions to address emerging challenges in data storage.
• Ensure the reliability and resilience of our storage solutions by implementing robust error handling, data integrity checks, and recovery mechanisms.
• Work with large-scale data sets and distributed environments, understanding the unique challenges and opportunities they present.
• Contribute to the testing strategy, developing unit tests, integration tests, and performance tests to validate the quality and functionality of your code.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in storage technology, distributed systems, and programming languages, bringing new ideas and techniques to the team.
• Have a direct impact on hundreds of customers worldwide, including major telecommunications operators, banks, TV channels, and hospitals, who rely on Scality's technology for their critical data infrastructure.

🎯 Requirements

• Proven experience in software development, with a strong focus on distributed systems.
• Proficiency in C programming.
• Experience with Python and/or Go is a plus.
