• • We are seeking a talented Software Engineer to join our Dedibox Compute Foundation team. This team is instrumental in modernizing and scaling our foundational backend systems, ensuring unparalleled production excellence. Your primary mission will be to maintain and progressively evolve our legacy Dedibox Symfony application. This involves transitioning towards more modular and service-oriented architectures, thereby enhancing performance, bolstering resilience, and ensuring long-term scalability within a critical production environment.
• • You will be an integral part of a collaborative and international team, where the diversity of our 'Scalers' and a strong spirit of knowledge sharing foster the creation of innovative projects. Together, we advance our collective ambitions. You will join a team of 6 DevOps Engineers, working in close collaboration with an Engineering Manager, a dedicated Product team, and a specialized SRE team. Our team operates within an agile framework, granting significant technical autonomy. We are responsible for internally developed applications that run within a high-volume, production-critical cloud provider environment.
• • Your daily responsibilities will encompass developing and maintaining backend features using Symfony (PHP 7+), ensuring the application's operational maintenance (MCO) in production, and diligently debugging and resolving production incidents in high-availability environments. You will actively contribute to the progressive modernization of our legacy monolith, guiding its evolution towards modular and microservices architectures. A key focus will be on improving application performance and resilience, participating actively in code reviews to uphold best backend practices, and managing deployments through our CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI).
• • Furthermore, you will gain hands-on experience working with Docker and various DevOps tooling within distributed environments. Close collaboration with our SRE, hardware, support, and billing teams will be essential for seamless operations. After a comprehensive onboarding period, you will also participate in the on-call rotation, ensuring the continuous availability of our critical systems. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on foundational cloud infrastructure, directly impacting the performance and scalability of Scaleway's core offerings.
