đź“‹ Description

  • • Zap Solutions, Inc. is building a better financial system powered by Bitcoin, aiming to revolutionize how individuals and businesses interact with digital currency. As a Security Software Engineer, you will be instrumental in embedding security into the core of our engineering practices, acting as a vital bridge between our security and development teams. This is a hands-on, code-centric role where you will directly contribute to building and maintaining secure systems, ensuring that security is a foundational element of our product development lifecycle, not an afterthought. You will leverage your engineering expertise to apply adversarial thinking to our real-world systems, services, and developer workflows, proactively identifying and mitigating risks before they impact our users. This role reports directly to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), underscoring its strategic importance within the organization.
  • • Your day-to-day responsibilities will be diverse and impactful. You will function as an embedded member of engineering teams, actively participating in technical discussions, including Request for Comments (RFCs), Product Requirement Documents (PRDs), code reviews, and overall project planning. Your contributions will directly influence system design, with a strong emphasis on architecting and implementing secure solutions from the ground up. A significant part of your role will involve applying adversarial thinking to design and meticulously review systems that have security implications, such as identity management systems, authentication flows, and APIs, ensuring that security is an integral part of every implementation. You will take direct ownership of vulnerabilities found in application code, managing the entire lifecycle from triage and fixing to partnering with other engineers to remediate issues within our production systems. Furthermore, you will be responsible for owning and building critical security controls, including configuring Cloudflare and Web Application Firewall (WAF) rules, and integrating essential security tooling into our Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and developer workflows to foster a secure-by-default engineering environment. You will also engineer detection and response capabilities by designing and implementing alerting rules, detection logic, and incident response workflows within our Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) system, treating detection as a core engineering challenge. Finally, you will play a key role in building scalable security capabilities across various teams, empowering other engineers to embrace security responsibilities and reducing the need for centralized security bottlenecks.
  • • You will be joining Zap Solutions, Inc., a forward-thinking company dedicated to making Bitcoin accessible and usable for everyone globally. Our mission is to build a better financial system, and security is paramount to achieving this goal. You will be part of a dynamic and innovative environment where your contributions directly impact the security posture of a rapidly growing fintech company. The team is collaborative and values a proactive, engineering-first approach to security, fostering a culture where security is everyone's responsibility.
  • • In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to deepen your expertise in security engineering by working on cutting-edge financial technology. You will gain hands-on experience with a wide range of security tools and practices within a cloud-native environment. You can expect to develop advanced skills in threat modeling, secure system design, vulnerability remediation, and building scalable security infrastructure. This position offers significant growth potential, allowing you to shape security practices and contribute to the overall success and integrity of Strike's platform. You will learn to balance security requirements with the fast-paced needs of a growing startup, becoming a key player in ensuring the trust and safety of our users' financial activities.
  • • This role is specifically designed for an engineer who thrives on solving complex security challenges through code and system design. It is not a traditional penetration testing or audit position; instead, it focuses on proactive security engineering. You will not be running scanners or solely producing reports. Your primary focus will be on hands-on development, deep system understanding, and the practical implementation of security controls. You will be expected to write production-quality code, review and understand complex production codebases, and assess the real-world exploitability of security issues. Your ability to reason about threats and security trade-offs within live systems, understanding how they fail and can be abused, is crucial. This role requires a strong engineering background with proven experience building and shipping production systems, preferably in backend, infrastructure, or platform development. Experience with cloud environments, particularly Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Kubernetes, is essential for designing, deploying, and operating systems effectively. You should possess hands-on experience with SIEM systems for building detections and workflows, proficiency with Terraform or other infrastructure-as-code tools, and experience configuring firewalls and Web Application Firewalls (WAFs). The ability to deeply understand production codebases, conduct high-quality code reviews, and assess the practical exploitability of identified issues is a core requirement. Ultimately, this role is for an engineer who wants to build security into the fabric of a financial technology product, ensuring its robustness and trustworthiness.
  • • The position is open to candidates located in the US or Europe, offering a remote work arrangement within Americas & European time zones. This flexibility allows for a better work-life balance while contributing to a global company. You will be working with a team that values innovation, collaboration, and a proactive approach to security. The company is committed to building a better financial system powered by Bitcoin, and this role is central to ensuring the security and integrity of that mission. You will have the opportunity to work on challenging problems in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, making a tangible impact on the company's success and the future of finance. The emphasis is on talent and passion, not just credentials, creating an inclusive environment for individuals from diverse educational backgrounds.
  • • As a Security Software Engineer at Zap Solutions, Inc., you will be at the forefront of securing a rapidly evolving financial technology platform. Your work will directly contribute to the trust and reliability of our services, which are used by individuals and businesses worldwide. You will have the opportunity to shape security best practices, implement innovative security solutions, and grow your career in a dynamic and supportive environment. The company is dedicated to fostering a culture of continuous learning and development, providing ample opportunities for professional growth and skill enhancement. You will collaborate with talented engineers and security professionals, contributing to a mission-driven organization that is making a significant impact on the global financial landscape. This role offers a chance to be part of a company that values its employees and invests in their success, providing the resources and support needed to excel.
