📋 Description

• As a Solutions Engineer specializing in Zero Trust at Cloudflare, you will be at the forefront of helping organizations reimagine and strengthen their security posture in an increasingly complex digital landscape. You will act as a trusted technical advisor to our clients, deeply understanding their unique business objectives, existing application architectures, and current access control mechanisms. Your primary goal will be to architect and present robust security solutions leveraging the comprehensive Cloudflare One product suite, ensuring the safety of their employees, data, and critical assets in alignment with the latest cybersecurity standards.
• This role involves a dynamic blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and client-facing engagement. You will guide qualified prospects through the critical Solution Design and Proof of Concept (POC) phases of sales cycles, meticulously demonstrating the power and versatility of Cloudflare's Zero Trust offerings. This includes showcasing cutting-edge solutions like Remote Browser Isolation and advanced email security capabilities, which are pivotal in modern threat mitigation.
• Collaboration is key to success in this position. You will work hand-in-hand with Account Executives (AEs) and generalist SEs, fostering a unified approach to client engagement. Furthermore, you will interface with various internal teams across Cloudflare, including Sales, Product Management, Engineering, and Customer Support. This cross-functional collaboration ensures that client feedback is effectively captured and communicated, driving product innovation and enhancing customer satisfaction.
• Your responsibilities will extend to understanding the intricate IT landscapes and specific security requirements of our diverse clientele. Based on this understanding, you will design tailored architectures that not only meet their immediate security needs but also support their broader business objectives and growth strategies. A significant part of your role will be articulating the distinct advantages and superior value proposition of the Cloudflare One portfolio when compared to competing solutions in the market.
• You will be instrumental in driving customer retention by actively identifying and communicating any gaps in Cloudflare's product features or functionalities. This feedback loop is invaluable for continuous improvement and ensures that Cloudflare remains at the cutting edge of cybersecurity innovation. Your technical insights will directly influence the future development of our Zero Trust solutions.
• The role demands a proactive and inquisitive mindset, coupled with a strong aptitude for learning and adapting to new technologies and evolving threat landscapes. You will need to stay abreast of the latest trends in cybersecurity, including but not limited to, advanced persistent threats (APTs), sophisticated malware, ransomware, phishing campaigns, cryptojacking, botnets, and data exfiltration techniques.
• A fundamental understanding of customer network and application architectures is essential. This includes deep dives into hybrid cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP), understanding user workflows from endpoint to application, and grasping the complexities of modern distributed systems. You will leverage this knowledge to build compelling and effective Zero Trust strategies.
• You will be expected to develop a thorough understanding of Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) concepts and Zero Trust Networking architectures. Familiarity with core components such as Secure Web Gateways (SWG), Cloud Access Security Brokers (CASB), Data Loss Prevention (DLP), DNS security, and encrypted DNS protocols (like DNS over HTTPS) is crucial.
• Expertise in identity and access management is also vital. This includes understanding Identity Providers (IdPs), authentication protocols (SAML, OAuth), and multi-factor authentication (MFA) methods like One-Time Passwords (OTP). You will also need to be proficient in SaaS application integration and tenant control mechanisms.
• Addressing the challenges of VPN and remote access security will be a key focus. You will design solutions that provide secure and seamless access for remote and hybrid workforces, minimizing the attack surface.
• Experience with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems and log analytics platforms will enable you to help customers gain visibility into their security events and respond effectively to incidents.
• A solid grasp of client operating system fundamentals and software distribution methods is necessary for deploying and managing endpoint security solutions.
• The ability to seamlessly transition between high-level strategic discussions and hands-on technical configuration is a hallmark of successful Solutions Engineers at Cloudflare. You must be comfortable diving into the technical details when required to troubleshoot or demonstrate specific functionalities.
• Finally, you will need to demonstrate strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple engagements simultaneously, adhere to strict deadlines, and effectively prioritize competing goals in a fast-paced environment.

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years of prior Technical Sales, Systems Engineering, or related experience in a customer-facing role.
• Deep understanding of Zero Trust Networking architectures, SASE concepts, Secure Web Gateway (SWG), and Identity Providers (IdP) with SAML/OAuth experience.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity threats (malware, ransomware, phishing) and modern security solutions, including Remote Browser Isolation and email security.
• Fluent in English (written & spoken), with Dutch language proficiency being a strong advantage.
