• • As a Senior AI Engineer at Alight, Inc., you will be at the forefront of innovation, driving the development and deployment of cutting-edge artificial intelligence and machine learning solutions. This pivotal role involves designing, building, and maintaining sophisticated AI-powered applications that address complex business challenges and enhance our internal platforms. You will be instrumental in shaping the future of our AI capabilities, focusing on areas such as intelligent search, advanced summarization, and conversational AI.
• • Your primary responsibility will be to architect and implement AI-powered search, summarization, and chat functionalities for Alight's internal AI-powered search and chat platform. This includes developing robust systems that can understand user intent, retrieve relevant information efficiently, and provide concise, accurate summaries or engaging conversational responses.
• • A key aspect of this role is hands-on experience with agentic AI systems. You will be tasked with building or integrating systems that exhibit multi-step reasoning, can effectively utilize tools, and operate through autonomous workflows. This requires a deep understanding of how to orchestrate complex AI processes to achieve desired outcomes.
• • You will also play a crucial role in implementing advanced information-retrieval solutions. This encompasses developing and optimizing vector-based search capabilities, fine-tuning relevance ranking algorithms, and integrating retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) techniques to enhance the accuracy and contextuality of AI-generated responses.
• • The role demands the development of production-ready AI applications, primarily using Python. You will be responsible for integrating these applications with various AWS services, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance. This includes leveraging services like Lambda for serverless computing, SageMaker for ML model development and deployment, Glue for data integration, and S3 for data storage.
• • Building and tuning OpenSearch or Elasticsearch indexes will be a significant part of your work. You will optimize these search engines to support both semantic and keyword-based search use cases, ensuring that users can find information quickly and effectively, regardless of their query style.
• • A critical component of this position is the continuous evaluation, tuning, and refinement of AI models and system performance. Through rigorous experimentation and data analysis, you will identify areas for improvement and implement optimizations to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and user experience.
