• • As a Senior Manager, Banking & Payments, you will play a pivotal role within Kraken's Business Operations group, specifically leading our global banking relationships. This is a strategic position responsible for identifying, negotiating, and managing critical partnerships with global banks and financial institutions. These relationships are the bedrock of Kraken's entire ecosystem, enabling smooth, secure, and scalable access to the financial infrastructure that underpins all our products and services, from spot trading and staking to institutional custody and emerging ventures.
• • Your primary objective will be to shape and implement Kraken's Global Hybrid Banking Strategy. This involves identifying and executing high-impact opportunities that not only enhance our platform's capabilities but also directly support the launch of new products and expansion into new countries. You will be instrumental in ensuring Kraken remains the most trusted, accessible, and innovative platform for both digital and traditional assets on a global scale.
• • A key aspect of this role is commercial leadership. You will be responsible for negotiating and managing complex commercial terms and agreements with our banking partners. The goal is to optimize partner performance, drive down costs, and significantly increase the quality and reliability of services provided. This requires a keen eye for detail, strong negotiation skills, and a deep understanding of financial services contracts.
• • Operational excellence is paramount. You will oversee the end-to-end execution of banking operations, ensuring seamless liquidity management, efficient treasury operations, and the uninterrupted 24x7 processing of client transactions. This involves working closely with internal teams to troubleshoot issues, implement improvements, and maintain the highest standards of operational efficiency.
• • Cross-functional collaboration is essential for success. You will partner closely with critical internal departments including Finance, Legal, Treasury, Compliance, Product, and Engineering. The aim is to deliver integrated solutions that seamlessly support all business lines and geographical operations, ensuring alignment and synergy across the organization.
• • You will also be deeply involved in risk and compliance alignment. Working hand-in-hand with our Risk, Security, and Audit teams, you will assess and mitigate partner-related risks. Maintaining robust regulatory compliance is a non-negotiable aspect of this role, ensuring Kraken operates within all legal and ethical frameworks.
• • Establishing clear metrics, governance frameworks, and continuous improvement initiatives for all banking partnerships will be a core responsibility.
