- • Smarsh is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr. CPQ Solutions Architect to join our dynamic team. In this critical role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and implementing a robust and scalable Salesforce CPQ solution capable of managing two distinct and demanding quoting processes simultaneously. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of our quoting capabilities, ensuring both efficiency for high-volume, low-touch SaaS deals and comprehensive functionality for complex, enterprise-level transactions.
- • Our mission at Smarsh is to empower organizations in regulated industries to effectively manage risk and extract valuable intelligence from their digital communications. With over 6500 clients relying on us daily, we provide solutions that monitor over 80 communication channels, safeguarding them against compliance, legal, and reputational risks. Our commitment to relentless innovation has earned us consistent leadership recognition from industry analysts like Gartner and Forrester, and our sustained, aggressive growth has been acknowledged by our inclusion in the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing American companies since 2008.
- • As the Sr. CPQ Solutions Architect, you will be the primary owner of the CPQ architecture, pricing logic, and overall scalability of the solution. This involves architecting a system that not only meets current business needs but also anticipates and accommodates future growth and increasing deal complexity. You will be responsible for ensuring the integrity, reliability, and performance of the CPQ platform, making critical decisions about its design and configuration.
- • A key aspect of this role involves collaborating closely with a talented Salesforce functional expert who possesses deep knowledge of Flows, automation, and business process design. While your counterpart will focus on the functional and automation aspects, your expertise will be dedicated to the strategic architectural decisions, ensuring the CPQ engine is robust, efficient, and aligned with Smarsh’s long-term vision. This partnership is crucial for delivering a comprehensive and effective solution.
- • You will be tasked with designing and implementing a CPQ solution that adeptly handles two very different quoting motions. The first is high-volume, low-touch SaaS deals, which require a streamlined, automated, and highly reliable quoting process. This necessitates a focus on speed, efficiency, and minimizing manual intervention to support rapid sales cycles.
- • The second quoting motion involves complex Enterprise deals. These transactions are characterized by heavy optionality, bespoke pricing structures, multi-level approval workflows, intricate amendment processes, and non-standard commercial terms. Your architectural design must accommodate this complexity, ensuring flexibility and accuracy in every quote generated.
- • Your responsibilities will include defining the overall CPQ data model, ensuring it supports the diverse needs of both SaaS and Enterprise sales motions. You will design and implement sophisticated pricing rules, discount schedules, and product configurations that accurately reflect Smarsh’s offerings and commercial strategies.
- • You will also play a pivotal role in defining and enforcing best practices for CPQ development, configuration, and deployment. This includes establishing standards for code quality, testing methodologies, and release management to ensure a stable and maintainable CPQ environment.
- • Furthermore, you will be responsible for performance tuning and optimization of the CPQ solution, identifying and resolving bottlenecks to ensure rapid response times, especially for high-volume transactions. This includes monitoring system performance and implementing proactive measures to prevent issues.
- • You will conduct thorough technical reviews of proposed CPQ configurations and customizations, providing expert guidance and ensuring alignment with architectural standards and business objectives.
- • This role requires a forward-thinking approach to solution design, considering future enhancements, integrations with other Salesforce modules (Sales Cloud, Billing, etc.), and potential third-party applications.
- • You will contribute to the development of technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, configuration guides, and data dictionaries, to ensure knowledge transfer and maintainability.
- • Ultimately, your success will be measured by the ability of the CPQ solution to empower our sales teams with accurate, efficient, and flexible quoting tools, driving revenue growth and enhancing customer satisfaction across all deal types.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proven experience as a Salesforce CPQ Solutions Architect or in a similar senior CPQ technical role, with a strong track record of designing and implementing complex CPQ solutions.
- • Deep understanding of Salesforce CPQ capabilities, including product configuration, pricing rules, quote templates, bundles, and advanced approvals.
- • Expertise in designing and implementing pricing strategies, discount methodologies, and complex product catalog structures within Salesforce CPQ.
- • Strong knowledge of Salesforce platform capabilities, including data modeling, security, automation (Flows, Process Builder, Apex), and integration patterns.
- • Experience with agile development methodologies and a proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive salary and performance-based bonus opportunities.
- • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance plans.
- • Generous paid time off (PTO) and company holidays.
- • 401(k) retirement plan with company match.
- • Opportunities for professional development, training, and certifications.
