- • Serve as a leading authority on AI applications within the finance function, advising CFOs, FP&A leaders, Controllers, and Finance Transformation teams on AI strategy, governance, and implementation.
- • Research, analyze, and publish pragmatic and provocative insights on AI use cases in finance, including forecasting, planning, budgeting, record-to-report, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- • Evaluate and map the evolving finance AI technology landscape, including vendors, agentic AI capabilities, and emerging tools for finance process automation and transformation.
- • Develop and deliver high-impact, client-ready content through in-person and virtual client meetings, Gartner conferences, industry events, and sales support engagements.
- • Create compelling presentation materials and deliver keynote-level speaking engagements to establish thought leadership and drive client engagement with Gartner insights.
- • Identify root causes of client challenges in AI adoption within finance and reframe thinking to enable strategic decision-making and accelerated action.
- • Stay current on global trends in artificial intelligence, data science, and finance technology to ensure insights remain cutting-edge and actionable.
- • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT, Data, Legal, and HR to understand interdependencies in AI deployment within finance ecosystems.
- • Provide peer review of research content and contribute to refining Gartner’s research methodology and delivery processes.
- • Mentor junior analysts and support team development through coaching, feedback, and knowledge sharing.
- • Represent Gartner’s research methodology and strategic positioning to clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders at all levels.
- • Support BTI and Sales teams by acting as the voice of the market to align content creation with client priorities and drive business growth.
- • Conduct independent research to predict market shifts and identify gaps in finance AI adoption, translating findings into actionable client recommendations.
- • Work independently in a highly matrixed, global environment while actively contributing to team innovation, ideation, and research discussions.
- • Maintain executive presence and credibility when engaging with senior finance and technology leaders, ensuring Gartner is perceived as a trusted advisor.
- • Travel up to 10% for client meetings, conferences, and industry events as required.
🎯 Requirements
- • 10-12+ years of relevant experience in finance functions and technology, with 2+ years focused on AI in finance
- • Career exposure to major finance processes (forecasting, planning, budgeting, record-to-report, accounts payable/receivable)
- • Experience deploying AI functionality in embedded tools or developing homegrown/company-specific AI solutions in finance
- • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills with proven ability to synthesize complex data and draw defensible conclusions
- • Executive presence and ability to establish immediate credibility with C-suite and senior finance stakeholders
