📋 Description

• Investigate and evaluate moderate-to-high severity homeowner property loss claims both in the field and virtually, ensuring accurate assessment of damages to dwellings, other structures, and personal property.
• Conduct in-person or virtual meetings with insured parties or third parties to photograph, inspect, and document damaged property and personal belongings.
• Determine the scope of necessary repairs and prepare detailed repair estimates using the Xactimate estimating system.
• Negotiate and agree upon the cost of repairs with the insured, Network Repair Program (NRP) contractors, or the insured’s chosen contractor.
• Serve as the owning adjuster for all assigned claims at the Field Adjuster level, managing the claim from initial assessment through final settlement and closure.
• Ensure thorough investigation and identification of the cause of loss, consulting with experts as needed to support accurate claim determinations.
• Settle and pay dwelling or other structure damages after completing coverage analysis and confirming policy eligibility.
• Maintain full regulatory compliance by handling all claim correspondence, documentation, and file management in accordance with state and company standards.
• Progress toward achieving Level 5 Homeowner Adjuster competency through hands-on claim handling and performance evaluation.
• May be required to assign, coordinate, and oversee work performed by independent adjusters on assigned claims.
• Travel locally within Fresno, CA, and surrounding areas is required to conduct field inspections and meet with insureds or contractors.
• Operate independently under close supervision while maintaining high standards of accuracy, efficiency, and customer service in all claim interactions.
• Utilize knowledge of homeowner insurance policies and procedures to interpret coverage, apply policy terms, and ensure fair and consistent claim outcomes.
• Maintain a valid driver’s license and insurable driving record, or provide alternative transportation capable of safely transporting large or heavy equipment between claim sites.

🎯 Requirements

• 6+ years of related professional experience with transferrable skills
• 4+ years of claims experience with preferred emphasis on homeowner claims
• High school diploma required; related bachelor’s degree or higher may substitute for 2 years of experience
• Knowledge of Xactimate repair estimating system
• Knowledge of homeowner insurance policies and procedures
• Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record, or alternative transportation for safe transport of equipment between sites
