📋 Description

• Architect and deliver high-impact, consumer-facing features for Angel’s web platform, powering the discovery, funding, and community experience for millions of viewers and thousands of creators. You will own the end-to-end lifecycle of new UI components—from ideation through design reviews, implementation, automated testing, performance tuning, and phased roll-out—ensuring every pixel and interaction amplifies light.
• Collaborate daily with Product Managers, UX Designers, and Backend Engineers to translate ambitious product visions into elegant, accessible, and lightning-fast React applications. You will run rapid prototypes, gather user feedback through A/B experiments, and iterate weekly so that the Angel Guild and our global audience feel heard and delighted.
• Champion code quality and long-term maintainability by establishing reusable component libraries, enforcing TypeScript best practices, and driving adoption of modern tooling such as Next.js, Vercel, GraphQL, and Storybook. Expect to conduct rigorous code reviews, write extensive unit and integration tests, and mentor junior engineers through pair programming and brown-bag sessions.
• Optimize performance across a wide spectrum of devices and network conditions, from high-end desktops to low-bandwidth mobile connections. You will profile bundle sizes, implement code-splitting, lazy-load assets, and leverage edge caching so that every page achieves sub-second load times and perfect Lighthouse scores.
• Build and maintain a resilient CI/CD pipeline that automates linting, testing, visual regression checks, and canary deployments. You will monitor production metrics via Datadog or similar, respond to incidents with calm precision, and conduct blameless post-mortems that turn lessons learned into systemic improvements.
• Contribute to the technical roadmap by evaluating emerging frontend technologies—such as server components, edge-side rendering, and WebAssembly—and proposing pragmatic adoption strategies that balance innovation with stability.
• Uphold accessibility as a first-class requirement, ensuring WCAG 2.2 compliance and keyboard-navigable interfaces so that every story on Angel can be experienced by everyone.
• Foster a culture of psychological safety and continuous learning by leading cross-team hackathons, lightning talks, and guild meetings. Share your passion for clean architecture, functional programming patterns, and delightful animations that make users smile.
• Partner with Data Science to instrument user journeys and surface actionable insights through intuitive dashboards. You will turn raw analytics into narrative visualizations that guide product decisions and celebrate wins with the entire company.
• Exhibit ownership beyond code: update internal documentation in Notion, draft runbooks for on-call rotations, and coordinate release communications so that stakeholders always know what shipped and why it matters.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering with at least 3 years shipping React, React Native, or Node.js in production at consumer scale
• Expert-level proficiency in modern JavaScript/TypeScript, React ecosystem (hooks, context, suspense), and state-management patterns (Redux, Zustand, or Recoil)
• Demonstrated experience building responsive, accessible, and performant web applications under memory, CPU, and network constraints
• Strong grasp of CI/CD principles, automated testing (Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress), and cloud deployment (AWS, Vercel, or Netlify)
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
