đź“‹ Description

  • • Serve Robotics is at the forefront of revolutionizing urban logistics with its innovative sidewalk robot, designed to enhance city mobility, expand delivery accessibility, and empower local businesses. We are a team of seasoned professionals from diverse backgrounds in software, hardware, and design, united by a shared vision to build a better future through cutting-edge robotics, machine learning, and computer vision technologies. Our agile, diverse, and driven team thrives on collaborative problem-solving and a deep respect for end-to-end user experience.
  • • The Hardware Engineering team at Serve Robotics is instrumental in ensuring the safety, reliability, and optimal performance of our robotic fleet. This dynamic and collaborative group is dedicated to creating efficient, high-performance solutions for complex robotic applications, directly contributing to the company's success and growth. As a Sr. Hardware Test Engineer, you will be a pivotal member of this team, taking ownership of the comprehensive validation of our robot's critical hardware systems.
  • • Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the robust performance, unwavering reliability, and strict compliance of essential hardware components, including the compute modules, sophisticated power delivery systems, and advanced motor controllers. This role is perfectly suited for an individual who possesses a passion for building resilient, automated test infrastructures that seamlessly bridge the gap between the initial design phase and full-scale manufacturing.
  • • You will be tasked with defining and spearheading comprehensive test strategies tailored for complex systems such as compute units, power distribution networks, and motor control circuits. This involves meticulous planning and execution to guarantee that every component meets stringent performance and reliability benchmarks.
  • • A significant part of your role will involve the hands-on design and implementation of both manual and automated test setups. This includes the creation of custom fixtures and specialized test benches, ensuring precise and repeatable testing conditions for all hardware under validation.
  • • You will manage the entire test lifecycle, from the initial planning stages and meticulous execution of tests to the in-depth analysis of collected data and the clear, concise reporting of findings. This end-to-end ownership ensures that potential issues are identified and addressed proactively.
  • • Key validation activities will encompass assessing thermal performance under various operating conditions, evaluating electromagnetic interference (EMI) and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), ensuring signal integrity across critical pathways, and conducting long-term reliability testing to predict and prevent future failures.
  • • Close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including electrical, mechanical, and firmware engineers, will be essential. This partnership ensures that testability is considered from the earliest design stages and that the overall design quality is maintained and enhanced.
  • • You will be responsible for debugging intricate hardware issues, meticulously identifying root causes, and driving the implementation of corrective actions in close coordination with the design team. Your analytical skills will be crucial in resolving complex technical challenges.
  • • The development and maintenance of clear, thorough, and easily understandable test procedures and comprehensive reports are vital. These documents will serve as the backbone for our validation efforts and knowledge transfer.
  • • A critical aspect of your work will involve developing and executing rigorous stress and corner-case testing methodologies. This proactive approach is designed to uncover subtle, edge-case hardware failures that might not be apparent during standard testing.
  • • You will provide crucial support to the manufacturing team by developing production test solutions and assisting during the New Product Introduction (NPI) process, ensuring a smooth transition from development to mass production.
  • • Working closely with our supply chain and manufacturing partners is key to ensuring consistent test coverage and adherence to quality standards across all production lines, maintaining the integrity of our hardware.
  • • Analyzing field data to proactively identify potential hardware reliability issues and translating these insights into actionable improvements for both test planning and future hardware designs will be a continuous process, fostering a cycle of learning and enhancement.
  • • This role offers a unique opportunity to significantly impact the reliability and performance of our groundbreaking robotic delivery vehicles, contributing directly to Serve Robotics' mission of transforming urban mobility.
