📋 Description

• As a Sr. Infrastructure Security Engineer at Rula Health, you will play a critical role in safeguarding patient data and securing the cloud infrastructure that powers a mission-driven mental healthcare platform, directly contributing to the company’s vision of making mental health care accessible, stigma-free, and effective for everyone.
• You will partner closely with Engineering, Product, and cross-functional teams to embed security into the fabric of Rula’s operations, ensuring that protective measures are pragmatic, collaborative, and aligned with both technical excellence and ethical responsibility.
• Day to day, you will design, implement, and maintain secure cloud infrastructure using AWS, leveraging Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation to automate and enforce security best practices across environments.
• You will manage and develop security standards for Kubernetes and EKS clusters, including configuration hardening, runtime protection, and access controls to defend containerized workloads against emerging threats.
• You will use AWS SDKs in Python, JavaScript, or Go to build custom security tooling, scripts, and automation that enhance visibility, detect misconfigurations, and respond to potential incidents in real time.
• You will conduct regular security assessments, threat modeling, and risk prioritization focused on high-impact, low-effort improvements, helping the team stay ahead of vulnerabilities in dynamic cloud environments.
• You will collaborate with AI/ML teams to understand and mitigate risks associated with model serving pipelines, training data access, and GPU resource isolation, ensuring that innovative healthcare technologies are built on a secure foundation.
• You will contribute to organization-level cloud governance by defining, implementing, and refining policy controls such as AWS Service Control Policies (SCPs), ensuring consistent security posture across accounts and teams.
• You will tune and monitor Web Application Firewalls (WAFs), analyze alerts, and work with engineering to reduce false positives while strengthening protection against common web-based attacks.
• You will participate in cross-team knowledge sharing, mentor peers, and help foster a security-aware culture where practical experience and collaboration are valued over hierarchy.

🎯 Requirements

• 4+ years of demonstrated experience as an infrastructure security or cloud security engineer
• 3+ years of AWS engineering experience (in security or engineering roles)
• Proficiency using Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
• Expertise using an AWS SDK for Python, JavaScript, or Go for regular engineering tasks
• Demonstrated ability in managing or developing security standards around Kubernetes and/or EKS
