📋 Description

• Senior Mechanical Engineer role focused on designing and integrating mechanical systems for uncrewed surface vessels and autonomous platforms, supporting Havoc AI’s mission to advance all-domain collaborative autonomy in defense and commercial applications.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include leading mechanical design using SolidWorks, creating CAD models and assemblies for enclosures, mounts, and mechanisms, supporting electrical integration through interface definition and cable routing, participating in hardware builds and testing, collaborating with cross-functional teams, producing technical documentation, and ensuring manufacturability for rugged marine environments.
• Havoc AI is a 2024-founded leader in software-defined hardware for autonomous systems, headquartered in Providence, RI, developing systems that enable sea, air, and land assets to sense, decide, and act together in contested environments while minimizing human risk.
• The role offers opportunity to deepen expertise in mechanical design for defense-grade systems, gain end-to-end product development experience from concept to production, strengthen cross-disciplinary collaboration skills, and contribute to mission-critical autonomous platforms with real-world impact.

🎯 Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in mechanical engineering design and system integration
• Strong proficiency in SolidWorks for mechanical CAD modeling and drafting
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field
• U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a Secret Security Clearance
• Working familiarity with electrical systems to support integration (e.g., connectors, harness routing, grounding, environmental sealing)
• Hands-on experience with prototyping, assembly, testing, and troubleshooting mechanical and electromechanical systems
