- • As a Sr. Research Development Analyst at Optiv Security Inc., you will lead complex cybersecurity research initiatives, establish scalable processes, mentor junior analysts, and serve as a trusted advisor to R&D and cross-functional stakeholders, directly influencing how research informs strategic decision-making in a rapidly evolving threat landscape.
- • You will drive the end-to-end research lifecycle—from designing analytical frameworks and validating data integrity to producing high-impact deliverables such as reports, playbooks, and knowledge base content—while leveraging Microsoft 365 and Generative AI tools to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and communication at scale.

- • You will lead in-depth research and analysis across emerging cybersecurity technologies, tools, and industry trends, ensuring findings are accurate, actionable, and tailored for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- • You will own the design, refinement, and adoption of R&D processes, workflows, and internal standards, establishing repeatable, scalable methodologies that improve team efficiency and output quality.
- • You will create and maintain high-quality research deliverables—including reports, playbooks, frameworks, and knowledge base content—ensuring clarity, depth, and relevance to stakeholder needs.
- • You will ensure data accuracy and integrity across research repositories, reporting artifacts, and R&D systems through rigorous validation, documentation, and quality control practices.
- • You will provide project leadership across multiple R&D initiatives, managing timelines, prioritizing work, and coordinating cross-functional teams to deliver results on schedule and within scope.
- • You will translate complex technical findings into clear, concise, and compelling insights, enabling informed decision-making across leadership, product, sales, and engineering teams.
- • You will perform advanced data analysis using tools like Excel, SQL, and Python to identify trends, patterns, and strategic implications within large and diverse datasets.
- • You will serve as a subject-matter expert and mentor to junior analysts, offering guidance, reviewing work, and fostering knowledge sharing to elevate team capability.
- • You will leverage Microsoft 365 tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint) to support collaboration, analysis, documentation, and communication at scale.
- • You will thoughtfully integrate Generative AI tools to accelerate research, enhance content quality, and improve analytical efficiency while maintaining rigorous standards for accuracy and responsibility.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity research, analysis, IT, or a closely related field
- • Strong working knowledge of cybersecurity tools, frameworks, and industry standards
- • Demonstrated ability to independently research complex technical topics and synthesize them into clear, well-structured written content
- • Proven experience developing, improving, and documenting repeatable processes
- • Advanced organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
- • Strong data analysis skills, including working with large datasets, identifying trends, and validating findings
- • Programming experience (e.g., Python) for automation, data analysis, or tooling support
- • Experience writing and optimizing SQL queries
- • Familiarity with reporting, visualization, or analytics platforms
- • Experience mentoring or guiding less-experienced team members
- • Background in cybersecurity through professional experience, education, or certifications
- • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
- • Practical experience using Generative AI tools to responsibly support research, analysis, or content creation
- • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and inform stakeholders
- • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field (Master’s degree a plus)
