- • Sr. SE I at Smartsheet Inc. is a Senior Business DevOps Engineer role focused on building and scaling CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, monitoring frameworks, and deployment processes supporting mission-critical integrations across Finance, People, Sales, Legal, IT, and Engineering systems.
- • Day to day, the person will design, implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab and AWS Code Pipeline; develop and manage infrastructure-as-code with Terraform, TerraGrunt, and CloudFormation; build observability and monitoring frameworks using DataDog and CloudWatch; automate environment provisioning and configuration management; review and remediate vulnerabilities from tools like WIZ; proactively monitor and upgrade AWS code bases; collaborate with developers to containerize workloads and streamline Lambda deployment; enhance system reliability through automation of build/test/release workflows; support staging and production release processes including rollback plans; partner with architects to define DevOps best practices for security, scaling, and fault tolerance; and participate in production support rotation triaging environment-level issues.
- • The role is part of Smartsheet’s Corporate Systems Development team in Bangalore, reporting to the Senior Manager, Systems Development, and collaborating with global developers, architects, and application administrators to ensure platform foundations are secure, efficient, and scalable. Smartsheet empowers over 10 million users across industries like construction, retail, and software development with its SaaS platform, enabling automation of manual work and scalable solutions.
- • The person can learn and achieve deep expertise in enterprise-scale DevOps practices, gain hands-on experience with AWS, GitLab, Terraform, DataDog, and containerization technologies, develop leadership in coaching and knowledge sharing, improve system reliability and deployment velocity at scale, and contribute to mission-critical integrations that impact global business operations while growing within a culture that values innovation, autonomy, and impact.
🎯 Requirements
- • BS in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent industry experience
- • 7+ years of experience in DevOps or System Engineering roles
- • Proven expertise in AWS services (Lambda, Step Functions, EC2, SQS/SNS, S3)
- • Hands-on experience with Terraform, TerraGrunt, GitLab CI/CD, AWS CDK and Infrastructure as Code principles
- • Solid understanding of networking, security groups, VPC, and API gateway configurations
- • Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration
