📋 Description

• As a Sr. Software Engineer, Back-End at Rebuy, you will own and evolve critical financial infrastructure including billing, payments, and partner payouts, directly impacting how merchants are charged and how revenue flows across the platform.
• Day to day, you will design and build scalable billing systems in PHP and Go, lead the migration from Code Igniter 2 to 4, develop secure APIs for financial data flows, and contribute to AI agent enablement by building backend automation systems.
• You’ll join a fully remote, mission-driven team powering intelligent commerce for fast-growing DTC brands like Aviator Nation, Liquid Death, and Magic Spoon, where ownership, empathy, and technical excellence are core values.
• In this role, you’ll grow into a platform-wide technical leader, deepen your expertise in financial systems and cloud-native backend engineering, mentor peers in PHP best practices, and shape Rebuy’s engineering culture through security, quality, and collaboration.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience building backend applications with PHP and Go, including production SaaS environments.
• Proven experience designing and implementing secure, scalable RESTful APIs in PHP and Go.
• Experience building or maintaining billing, payments, or financial systems in a production environment.
• Strong understanding of security fundamentals as they apply to backend and financial systems (e.g., OWASP Top 10, encryption, auth/z).
• Experience with cloud-based technologies, preferably GCP.
• Experience working in Scrum/Agile environments and with Atlassian tools (Jira, Bitbucket).
