- • Join Lyric, a pioneering AI-first healthcare technology company, as a Sr. Software Engineer specializing in Machine Learning. You will play a pivotal role in simplifying the business of care by developing and deploying cutting-edge AI solutions that prevent inaccurate payments and reduce waste within the healthcare ecosystem. This is an exceptional opportunity to leverage your expertise in machine learning to drive innovation and significantly impact the cost of care for payers, providers, and patients.
- • As a market leader with 35 years of pre-pay editing expertise, Lyric is committed to technological advancement and is recognized for its excellence, holding HI-TRUST and SOC2 certifications and receiving the 2025 CandE Award for Candidate Experience. If you are passionate about shaping the future of healthcare with AI and thrive in a dynamic, collaborative environment, this role is for you.
- • In this role, you will be instrumental in the end-to-end machine learning lifecycle, from initial data preprocessing and feature engineering to the robust deployment and ongoing monitoring of ML models in production environments. You will work with modern frameworks and adhere to best-in-class MLOps practices to ensure scalability, reproducibility, and maintainability of our AI solutions.
- • Your responsibilities will encompass designing, training, and optimizing sophisticated machine learning models using industry-standard frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow. You will be tasked with building scalable and efficient data pipelines, utilizing libraries like Pandas and Dask, to prepare data for feature engineering and model training. A key aspect of this role involves implementing rigorous model evaluation techniques, performing hyperparameter tuning, and establishing comprehensive performance monitoring systems to ensure our models consistently deliver optimal results.
- • You will be a champion for MLOps, developing and maintaining robust ML workflows using tools like Airflow, Kedro, and MLflow. This includes automating the deployment of models and managing their lifecycle across development, staging, and production environments, ensuring seamless integration and rapid iteration. Your work will directly contribute to the reliability and efficiency of our AI-driven healthcare solutions.
- • Handling large-scale datasets is a core component of this position. You will leverage distributed computing frameworks such as Dask and Spark to process and analyze vast amounts of data efficiently. Ensuring the quality, consistency, and compliance of this data with established governance standards will be paramount. Experience with data warehousing solutions like Snowflake or Databricks is highly desirable and will be a significant asset.
- • A critical focus will be placed on monitoring and observability. You will implement strategies for detecting model drift, tracking performance metrics in real-time, and establishing automated retraining pipelines to maintain model accuracy and relevance over time. Utilizing experiment tracking tools like MLflow and Weights & Biases will be essential for maintaining transparency and ensuring the reproducibility of your work.
- • Collaboration is key to success at Lyric. You will work closely with a cross-functional team of data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to ensure that our machine learning solutions are tightly aligned with overarching business objectives. Your ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable insights for stakeholders will be highly valued.
- • You will also be responsible for comprehensive documentation of ML workflows, best practices, and operational guidelines, fostering knowledge sharing and enabling efficient team collaboration. This role offers a unique opportunity to apply your advanced ML engineering skills to solve some of the most pressing challenges in healthcare, contributing to a more efficient and cost-effective system for everyone involved.
