- • As a Sr. Staff Security Engineer at Illumio, you will be a pivotal technical leader within the Office of the CTO and Security team, instrumental in shaping the company's strategic technical direction and fortifying both Illumio's internal infrastructure and its customer-facing products against evolving cyber threats.
- • You will serve as the senior technical authority for the Detect, Respond, and Recover functions, playing a critical role in safeguarding the organization's digital assets and ensuring operational resilience in the face of sophisticated cyberattacks, particularly ransomware and breaches.
- • A core aspect of your role will involve leveraging Illumio Insights as an indispensable daily tool for proactive threat detection and incident response. Your hands-on experience and feedback will be invaluable in refining and enhancing the Illumio platform itself, directly contributing to product development and innovation.
- • You will engage in close cross-functional collaboration with various teams across the organization, including Engineering and Product Management, to architect and implement robust security solutions that protect Illumio’s production and corporate environments.
- • Your responsibilities will extend to building, deploying, and automating a comprehensive suite of security solutions designed to support and strengthen our defense-in-depth strategy. This will involve working with a diverse technology stack, encompassing commercial off-the-shelf products, open-source tools, and custom-developed in-house solutions.
- • A key objective will be the continuous improvement of the effectiveness of existing security tools and processes. You will be tasked with researching, evaluating, and implementing novel approaches and cutting-edge technologies to proactively address the ever-changing and increasingly complex threat landscape.
- • You will contribute to the broader security team's charter by performing a variety of essential activities, ensuring that Illumio maintains its position as a leader in Zero Trust Segmentation and its competitive advantage in the cybersecurity market.
- • As a senior member of the team, you will be expected to mentor and guide junior engineers and analysts, sharing your extensive knowledge and experience to foster a culture of continuous learning and development within the security function.
- • This role requires active participation in a weekly on-call rotation, ensuring 24/7 security coverage and the ability to respond swiftly to critical security incidents.
- • You will be instrumental in developing and implementing advanced threat detection methodologies, incident response playbooks, and forensic investigation capabilities.
- • Your expertise will be crucial in assessing and mitigating vulnerabilities across our cloud and on-premises infrastructure, ensuring a robust security posture.
