📋 Description

• • Join Vantor’s newly-formed U.S. 3D R&D hub in Herndon, VA, and help us turn the world’s largest satellite archive into a living, breathing 3D globe. You will sit shoulder-to-shoulder with our Swedish Center of Excellence and architect the software that fuses petabytes of imagery into centimeter-accurate 3D models used by defense, intelligence, and commercial customers to see change as it happens.
• • Own the full algorithmic life-cycle—from translating vague stakeholder wishes into crisp technical requirements, through prototyping in Python or Go, to shipping hardened C/C++ libraries that run on resource-constrained edge hardware. Your code will power stereo reconstruction, mesh & voxel processing, real-time geo-registration of video, and global-scale terrain extraction.
• • Work in small, cross-functional agile squads that include photogrammetrists, ML researchers, and DevOps. You will demo early, iterate fast, and push weekly releases that immediately reach analysts in the field.
• • Optimize for the real world: profile algorithms on GPUs, shave milliseconds off latency-critical paths, and design data structures that respect limited compute, memory, and storage budgets on airborne and ground systems.
• • Champion modern software craftsmanship—containerize services with Docker/Kubernetes, automate testing in GitLab CI, instrument everything with Prometheus/Grafana, and ensure every commit is reproducible and secure.
• • Collaborate with sensor calibration teams to model new electro-optical payloads and integrate their corrections directly into the 3D pipeline, improving absolute geolocation accuracy to sub-meter levels.
• • Contribute to open internal libraries that accelerate computer vision research across the company; your pull requests will be reviewed by the same engineers who built the original codebase in Sweden.
• • Mentor junior developers and university interns, turning complex image-processing theory into practical, production-grade code while fostering a culture of curiosity and inclusion.
• • Present technical deep-dives to customers and at conferences, translating intricate 3D vision concepts into compelling stories that win new contracts and shape product roadmaps.
• • Stay on the cutting edge—evaluate new languages like Rust for safety-critical components, experiment with Vulkan for real-time rendering, and prototype ML-driven depth refinement networks that learn from millions of stereo pairs.
