- • Own and drive the strategic vision, architecture, and roadmap for Abercrombie & Fitch’s next-generation Design System, ensuring it scales gracefully across responsive web, native iOS & Android, and future platforms such as in-store kiosks and emerging AR/VR touchpoints.
- • Partner daily with Product, Engineering, Brand, and Merchandising leaders to translate complex business goals into a unified, pixel-perfect, and brand-true design language that delights millions of global customers.
- • Establish and champion rigorous design standards, tokens, and component libraries that guarantee visual consistency, localization flexibility, and WCAG 2.2 accessibility compliance across 7+ languages and 5+ currencies.
- • Lead inclusive design critiques and cross-functional workshops, mentoring mid-level and junior designers while evangelizing best practices in accessibility, motion, and micro-interaction design.
- • Instrument and monitor component usage, performance, and adoption metrics; iterate continuously to reduce design-to-development cycle time by 30% and cut redundant UI debt.
- • Spearhead the creation of detailed, developer-friendly documentation in Figma, Storybook, and Confluence, including do/don’t examples, prop tables, and live code snippets that empower autonomous squads.
- • Collaborate with Localization, QA, and Legal teams to ensure every component supports right-to-left layouts, cultural color semantics, and region-specific compliance (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
- • Pilot and integrate cutting-edge tooling—such as design-token automation, visual regression testing, and AI-assisted content generation—to future-proof the system and keep A&F at the forefront of retail innovation.
- • Present quarterly system health reports and strategic recommendations to C-level stakeholders, translating design impact into revenue, conversion, and customer-satisfaction KPIs.
- • Contribute to A&F’s open-source ethos by publishing reusable patterns, speaking at design conferences, and maintaining an internal guild that fosters continuous learning and cross-brand knowledge sharing.
