- • As a Staff AI Engineer at Guidewire, you will provide strategic technical leadership in shaping the company’s AI/ML capabilities, driving innovation that directly impacts how property and casualty insurers leverage intelligent systems to improve underwriting, claims, and customer engagement.
- • Your day-to-day responsibilities include leading the end-to-end AI/ML lifecycle—from data sourcing and model architecture to training, deployment, and monitoring in cloud environments—while defining scalable AI architecture that integrates seamlessly with Guidewire’s broader product ecosystem.
- • You will collaborate closely with core engineering teams to build MLOps infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines, design high-fidelity prototypes to validate emerging AI concepts (such as Generative AI and Agentic workflows), and establish rigorous evaluation frameworks to ensure model robustness and production readiness.
- • Beyond technical execution, you will mentor senior and mid-level engineers, advocate for responsible AI practices, and serve as a subject matter expert who translates cutting-edge research into tangible product advantages that support Guidewire’s mission of enabling insurer innovation and growth.
- • This role offers the opportunity to influence long-term AI strategy at a scale that serves over 540 insurers across 40 countries, combining deep technical impact with leadership in a mission-driven, innovation-focused organization.
🎯 Requirements
- • 10+ years of professional experience in software engineering with a focus on implementing ML/AI technologies at scale
- • Deep expertise in Natural Language Processing (NLP), including proven experience building and deploying LLM-based applications, RAG architectures, and vector databases
- • Demonstrated success in taking AI models from experimental stages to high-availability production environments, preferably in regulated industries such as insurance or finance
- • Advanced proficiency in Python and modern AI frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, LangChain, LlamaIndex), along with strong experience in cloud-scale infrastructure, ideally AWS, and MLOps best practices
- • Exceptional communication skills to convey complex technical ideas to executive stakeholders while maintaining credibility with engineering teams, combined with a collaborative, influence-driven approach to cross-functional work
