- • As a Staff Cloud Engineer at Tide Platform Limited, you will play a pivotal role in designing, building, and maintaining the cloud infrastructure that powers financial services for over 1.8 million small and medium-sized enterprises across the UK, India, Germany, and France. Your work directly enables SMEs to save time and money by ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of Tide’s cloud-native platform, which is central to delivering seamless banking and administrative solutions.
- • You will lead and mentor a team of engineers, driving technical excellence and fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation. Your deep expertise in AWS, Kubernetes, Argo CD, Terraform, and Infrastructure as Code will be instrumental in shaping Tide’s multi-cloud strategy, ensuring robust, secure, and cost-effective cloud operations across AWS, Azure, and GCP environments.
- • The cloud engineering team at Tide operates at the forefront of financial technology, managing a 100% containerised infrastructure on AWS EKS with GitOps-driven deployments via Argo CD, Helm, and Crossplane. You will work alongside a diverse, global team of over 2,500 Tideans, championing inclusivity and innovation in offices spanning London, Sofia, Serbia, Romania, Lithuania, Hyderabad, Gurugram, New Delhi, Berlin, Paris, and Luxembourg.
- • In this role, you will advance your expertise in cutting-edge cloud technologies, GitOps methodologies, and cloud security practices while influencing architectural decisions that impact millions of users. You’ll gain leadership experience in mentoring engineers, driving automation through IaC, and contributing to a mission-driven organisation that values data-driven decision-making and continuous learning.
- • Design, build, and maintain cloud-based solutions using AWS EKS, Terraform, Terragrunt, Argo CD, Helm, and Crossplane to ensure scalable, secure, and observable infrastructure.
- • Lead and mentor junior and mid-level engineers through technical guidance, code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge-sharing sessions to elevate team capability and foster a culture of engineering excellence.
- • Stay current with emerging cloud technologies, security best practices, and DevOps innovations, evaluating and recommending adoption of new tools and methodologies to improve system reliability and operational efficiency.
- • Troubleshoot and resolve complex cloud-based and networking issues, leveraging monitoring, logging, and tracing tools to minimise downtime and ensure high availability of critical financial services.
- • Collaborate closely with product, security, and platform teams to align cloud solutions with business needs, ensuring compliance, performance, and cost optimisation across all environments.
- • Participate in on-call rotations to provide timely incident response and post-incident analysis, contributing to continuous improvement of system resilience and service reliability.
🎯 Requirements
- • Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
- • 10+ years of experience in distributed systems and cloud computing
- • Hands-on expertise with AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, Argo CD, and GitOps methodologies
- • Proficiency in coding with Python, Java, or Go for infrastructure automation and tooling
- • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills with experience in Agile environments
